    (Bette smiles) And I’m fifteen years out of date, you mean

    Tina smiles and shrugs.

    (Tina) It might be less disruptive to just let him handle things for now, rather than you trying to catch up on fifteen years, and while you’re supposed to be resting

    Bette nods.

    (Bette) Have you spoken to him? I’m sure he’s capable but if I’m going to step back it’d be good if he had someone he could contact if something unexpected comes up. Or if a decision needs to be made and he isn’t comfortable with the responsibility

    (Tina) I asked Alice to call him yesterday. I’m sure she’d be happy to talk to him again if need be

    Bette looks at her.

    (Bette) I’d rather you deal with him

    Tina raises her eyebrows and looks back at her for a moment.

    (Tina) That’s not really a role I’d usually play Bette

    Bette nods and looks away for a moment. She looks back to Tina.

    (Bette) I don’t trust Alice with this

    Tina raises her eyebrows and then smiles.

    (Tina) You know, she’s fifteen years older too

    (Bette) You’re saying she’s matured?

    Tina gives a small laugh.

    (Tina) I wouldn’t go that far actually

    They smile at each other.

    (Tina) She can handle this though

    (Bette) Tee I just don’t trust her in the same way I trust you

    Tina raises her eyebrows and they hold each other’s gaze.

    (Bette) It’s fine though, I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable. I’ll just speak to him today, and I can deal with him directly as anything comes up

    Tina reaches towards her and places her hand on Bette’s forearm.

    (Tina) Bette, take a break from work. You need to rest

    They hold each other’s gaze for a moment.

    (Tina) And I’ll speak with him if he needs anything

    (Bette) Are you sure?

    Tina nods.

    (Tina) Yes, it’s fine

    2. So Bette is going to try to win Tina back, despite Tina having a fiancee and Bette a relationship with Julia, good for her, they belong together and if this is the way to rediscover each other, I’m totally for it.

      Why do i have the feeling Alice can’t keep her big mouth shut and will tell Julia?

      Great story, look forward to read the next chapter!

    3. I’m a little concerned for Bette and her future possibility with Tina. Nice to have a goal, but before she starts to put any thing into motion, she needs to know the general environment she is working in and what it is that everyone else knows that she does not. That is what broke them up and what has kept them apart for the last 15 years? My fear is that they are going to be get hurt and without a good reason except that Bette is being who she was some 15 years ago.. What ever has happened is still apart of their history and has had its impact even if Bette does not remember. So unless this condition is going to be permanent, Bette needs to proceed slowly with her decisions and objectives. And the doctors say it will not be permanent.

    4. I am looking forward to the next chapter to read what happened between them. Bette didn’t want any type of relationship with Tina before her accident. I hope the current partners stay away for a while.
