Chapter 4
(Tina) I better run, I want to allow plenty of time to speak to Angie
Shane nods and Tina gathers her belongings together. Shane watches her for a moment before speaking.
(Shane) I think you’re doing a great job with all this. I know it must be pretty fucking weird for you
Tina looks over at her, raising her eyebrows and smiling as she places her mug in the dishwasher.
(Tina) Very fucking weird
They smile at each other. Tina pulls her handbag over her shoulder and touches Shane’s arm affectionately as she makes her way past her and to the front door.
Later, Shane is still sitting at the island bench and turns when she hears Bette entering from the hallway.
(Shane smiles) Well hey there
Bette smiles at her as she moves past her, picking up the coffee pot and pouring herself a mug.
(Bette) Hey, thanks for coming
(Shane) Of course. How are you feeling?
(Bette) Fine, actually. Considering. Other than the obvious memory issues, I feel pretty normal
She shrugs.
(Bette) But they said to rest, so I’m trying to do that
Shane nods as Bette takes a seat.
(Shane) How long do they expect this to go on for?
(Bette sighs) They really don’t know. Days, possibly weeks, that was their best estimate
Bette pauses for a sip of her coffee.
(Bette) They don’t know how it will come back either. It could happen gradually, or all come flooding back at once
(Shane) It will definitely come back though?
(Bette) I think they expect it to, but I guess nothing is really a guarantee. I think there’s a lot they don’t know about this sort of thing, and there are a lot of variables
Shane nods and has a sip of coffee, and Bette watches her for a moment before speaking.
(Bette) Can you tell me why Tina and I broke up?
Shane looks at her with eyebrows raised.
(Shane) Ah
She places her coffee back on the bench and frowns.
(Shane) Why are you asking me that? Shouldn’t you speak to Tina?
(Bette) She wants me to talk to one of you
Shane looks at her suspiciously.
(Shane) Really?
(Bette nods) Yes, she thinks it would be detrimental to her to go through all the details again. So she wants one of you to do that, and then we’ll sit down and talk about it, once I’m across what happened

Thanks for the update. I’m really enjoying this story. Thanks
So Bette is going to try to win Tina back, despite Tina having a fiancee and Bette a relationship with Julia, good for her, they belong together and if this is the way to rediscover each other, I’m totally for it.
Why do i have the feeling Alice can’t keep her big mouth shut and will tell Julia?
Great story, look forward to read the next chapter!
I’m a little concerned for Bette and her future possibility with Tina. Nice to have a goal, but before she starts to put any thing into motion, she needs to know the general environment she is working in and what it is that everyone else knows that she does not. That is what broke them up and what has kept them apart for the last 15 years? My fear is that they are going to be get hurt and without a good reason except that Bette is being who she was some 15 years ago.. What ever has happened is still apart of their history and has had its impact even if Bette does not remember. So unless this condition is going to be permanent, Bette needs to proceed slowly with her decisions and objectives. And the doctors say it will not be permanent.
Thanks for the chapter…. it is getting interesting.
I am looking forward to the next chapter to read what happened between them. Bette didn’t want any type of relationship with Tina before her accident. I hope the current partners stay away for a while.
