Chapter 4 – The Doctor Visit

At 3:30, Angie came out the door with all kinds of paperwork in her hand and smiling.

    Tina:  How’d it go?

Angie:  Oh, it went fine.  A piece of cake.  I really like Dr. Stanton.  She is really nice and really knows her stuff.

Bette: Okay gang, we are bit early for dinner so, we could go someplace and get a light snack like ice cream or we could go shopping if you have some specific, we need to purchase.

Tina:  Why don’t we go shopping for a couple of steamer trunks for Angie to take her stuff to school with.

    Angie:  Steamer trunks?

Daniel:  Yeah, trunks like Harry Potter took his stuff to school in.

Bette:  Let’s go get some ice cream first and discuss these trunks with Angie.

Tina:  Sounds like a good plan. Let’s go.

Tina:  Angie do you have any prescriptions that we need to pick up?

Angie:  Yes, but I think we need to deal with that later.

Bette:  Okay, dear. Just remember our time schedule is limited this week particularly and we need to get things done as quickly as we can.

Angie:  I know, but I would like to talk to you guys about this before I get this prescription filled.

Tina:  That’s fine.  We will talk tonight after we get home from dinner.

Tina and Bette knew that Angie probably did not want to talk in front of Daniel, but there was something she wanted her parents’ advice on.

They all got in the car and Tina drove to an ice cream parlor which was near the campus of UCLA.

Bette:  Now let’s talk about steamer trunks.  You do know what they look like generally right?

Angie:  Yeah, they are large pieces of ugly luggage.

Tina:  Well, they do not have to be ugly luggage.  They now make some that look like chest which people use to store blankets and linens in.

Bette:  When I was in the dorms, I had two. One I kept on the floor of my closet. In that one I stored my extra blanket, my second set of sheets and my clean towels and wash clothes. The other one I kept at the foot of my bed. In that one I kept my food supplies that did not have to go in the refrigerator; I kept my lady supplies; and I kept my unopened cleaning supplies and backup Q-tips and cotton balls and face tissues and my first aid kit. That trunk also doubled as a place I could sit to put on my shoes. The advantage was that I could lock this thing up and keep sticky fingers out of my stuff.
