Chapter 4 – The Doctor Visit

Angie:  I’m putting this on my to do list.  I hate being hungry.  I cannot imagine going a day of two without food unless you were sick or something.

Tina:  Going without regular meals for those who have very little fat is more stressing than those with some fat stores.  Neither person is comfortable, but the lean person has no reserve for energy. Having a backup food stash is a really good idea.

They reached the restaurant and Bette got the files that she would give to Paris and left the remaining two.  She went over to Tina and pulled her aside.

Bette:  I’m going to ask Paris to come have a drink with me in the bar. Why don’t you and Jeanette have a drink maybe order some appetizers and keep the kids occupied.  I’ll try to get through this as quickly as I can and then we will join you and we will order our meal.

Tina:  I’ll hold down the fort. Try to cast as positive a light on this as you can. There is just so much we don’t know. Try not to go down that path if you can help it. Good luck. If you need me, I’m in the next room. You can text me.

Bette: Thanks sweetie. Let’s do this.

They then walked into the receiving area of the restaurant. Bette told the hostess that they were Porter, party of six for 6 o’clock.  She led the four of them to their table and handed out the menus.  Tina requested water while they waited.

Bette:  Angie, are you happy with your trunk selection?

Angie:  Oh yeah. They are going to be neat.  And I can’t believe you ordered rolling clothes racks.

Bette:  Well, the total of those two racks will be all the clothes your closet will hold. Therefore, if it’s not on those racks, it won’t fit into your closet. And your winter coat is absolutely essential. Now your bathrobe can be hung on the back of the bathroom door. Everything else has to go into your chest of drawers. Choose your clothes wisely. Everything left in New York will be shipped to Los Angeles. You will be able to keep only one piece of luggage – your weekend case. We will take back with us all other luggage not including the steamer trunks back to New York.  You simply do not have the room to store it. We may take back the rolling racks as well, but we will make a decision about that later.
