“That’s an understatement..Peggy Peabody is a shrewd business woman..Made her entire fortune running a company from the ground up and expanded it into a multi billion dollar empire…Has connections all around the world including the film industry. She started her modeling agency as a side venture but took on a full time roll as it grew..Peggy is classy, sophisticated, and worldly charming but also cunning and vindictive if you cross her..Trust me..She will know what to do with the likes of Carol Ashford”
Bette sits in silence for a moment processing everything Tina said
“I hope so Tina..For both of our sakes”

A short drive later, Bette and Tina finally arrive at Peggy Peabody’s office. Peggy motions them in as they approach her office. She greets both of them with a kiss on the cheek
“Thanks for seeing us about this Peggy” Tina says as she and Bette take their seats across from Peggy’s desk..
Peggy waves her off “Think nothing of it..There is no way I’m going to let Carol Ashford undermine what we are trying to accomplish here”
Peggy puts her desk phone on speaker and dials a number. It trills a few times before stopping
“Hello?”
“Marion..Peggy here along with Bette and Tina”
“Bette!..Carol Ashford..Really?”
Bette shrinks in her seat “Don’t start Marion”
“Leave your squabble for later…Now is not the time” Peggy chides and clears her throat continuing “Now Bette.. I know all about your affair with Carol Ashford”
Bette’s eyes widen “But how did you know..We kept it well hidden nobody knew except my friend Shane”
Peggy pinches the bridge of her nose with her fingers and sighs
“Bette….tsk tsk….You are naive if you thought no one knew. Trust me…It was well known among production at the time”
Bette shrinks further in her seat in shame
“Now if I may continue..What I do know of Carol is that once she decides to make a spectacle of herself she won’t back down… so you making your relationship public won’t deter her” Peggy explains
“So what do you suggest we do Peggy..I just got a call wanting Bette to interview for Fran Whittington’s morning show in the morning. We can certainly spin something positive from that before they leave for Paris” Marion says

This is such a cool story! I know – dumb thing to write – but it really is. Peggy Peabody is an absolute joy. Bringing Helena in as a secret weapon is just brilliant. Should have expected Helena to enter the story. Helena and Peggy are hysterical in their interaction and very easy to visualize. So funny! Helena’s arrogance is just what the doctor ordered to deal with Carol. Poor Bette though – she really does feel badly about being used by Carol. And we know Tina has sympathy and is developing a major soft spot for Bette. And other things. Bette is already smitten and is beginning to think Tina feels the same. Of course she does! No Helena distractions, Tina! This story gets better and better. And by the way – Tina – you so loved that kiss. Yes Tina it WAS hot!!! Fake girlfriend – not for long – Vegas oddsmakers are currently taking wagers.
Cool story indeed! Nothing dumb about that!

The coy Tina and Bette playing along and throwing in her charms. They are quite the couple! And Peggy and now Helena in the picture too. That bitch Carol doesn’t know what will hit her!
Agree with Bibi and Billy. Very cool story. Love how Tina repeatedly calls Bette her fake girlfriend then gets flustered when Bette kisses her. So funny. Looking forward to more…

Yep!! Love their interaction when Tina calls to get Bette out of bed. “Bette opens her eyes and chuckles “I like a woman that takes charge. Someone wants to spend time with me.” Oh Bette. Fake girlfriend indeed.
I like the banter between the two, but Bette’s self confidence is coming off as little misplaced. Bette is attractive and she knows it, but I think that the continuous “come on” lines will get a bit tiresome for Tina. Bette, show Tina that you have more in that brain than the desire for a sexual escapade. After all you two are about to go to Paris together and spend a significant amount of time together. Time to show Tina that there is some depth in the person that is Bette Porter. Tina is a person who is going to be a friend. So be a friend with her and cut out the “oh, I know you want me” crap. The arrangement is the arrangement, now give Tina a reason to want something different.
I love this story, it really can be a true gem in this collection of stories. Keep it coming…
I love this story so much already. I think Tina is already feeling something, despite her wanting to find Bette’s off switch. I love this flirty, arrogant Bette also…but she uses that to protect her heart. Good luck Bette, cause i think Tina’s already got it. So cute.

Hmm, not sure that Helena in long term it’s good for this Bete and Tina. Because after that Carol and knowing that their relationship only public trick what could stop her to go after Tina?
