Chapter 8
As Bette approaches the kitchen she sees Tina preparing dinner at the bench, and they both stop and look to the other. Bette moves further into the kitchen and Tina moves to the stove, removing a pan from the element and then turning back to the bench. As she moves past her Bette reaches out and takes her hand.
(Bette) Tee, I’m sorry for worrying you
Tina stops and turns to face her, looking at her for a moment before speaking.
(Tina) It’s fine, just please don’t do that again
Bette shakes her head as she takes a step towards her and places her hands on Tina’s hips.
(Bette) I won’t
Tina nods and then looks downwards and rubs her forehead.
(Tina) I overreacted
She looks to Bette and they smile at each other, and Tina sighs as she places her hands on Bette’s shoulders.
(Tina) You just really scared me
(Bette) I’m sorry. I think I’ve just felt really cooped up here and I wanted to try and unwind. But I wasn’t thinking
Tina nods as she moves her hands down Bette’s arms.
(Tina) Well I’m sorry too
Bette smiles at her as she moves her thumbs over Tina’s hips.
(Bette) You really don’t need to apologise, I love being told off by you
Tina shakes her head and smiles, and Bette smiles back at her.
(Tina) Couldn’t resist the flirtatious comment?
(Bette laughs) Guess not
Tina smiles at her for a moment and then nods towards the bench.
(Tina) Come on, you can help me with this
(Bette smiles) Sure
The next morning, Bette and Tina have breakfast together and then make their way to Bette’s gallery. Tina parks the car and they make their way to the front entrance together. Bette turns to her as they approach.
(Bette) Do my staff know what’s going on with me?
Tina shakes her head.
(Tina) I’ve been vague when I’ve spoken to James. I just said that you have a bad concussion and need to take some time off, so no I haven’t said anything specific about the memory issues
Bette nods.
(Bette) Thank you, yes I don’t think they need to know the details
They walk through the main entrance and stand alongside each other as they take in the space. Tina looks over at her, smiling at Bette’s reaction.

Perfect! Favourite quote: “Can you just pretend you didn’t hear it?” “OK” So good. Love how the lines are blurring for Tina.

Me too. I am hoping Tina ends her engagement to this other person we haven’t met yet. She obviously still is in love with Bette.

They both still need to address the elephant in the room. They are both in relationships. The pull between them is still so strong. They can’t just pretend that they aren’t involved with others. PPS
