    Chapter 8

(Bette smiles) It’s the same desk

Bette nods towards the desk and Tina looks over at it and raises her eyebrows. She looks back to Bette and they share a look before Tina clears her throat and moves over to the window, and Bette smiles as she follows her with her eyes.

(Tina) Wow, this view is amazing

Bette smiles and then walks over and stands alongside her. They take in the view together for a moment before Bette moves to examine a painting on the far wall.

As Bette moves across the room she falters, and Tina sees her begin to lose her footing from the corner of her eye. Tina moves quickly towards her and wraps her arms around her as Bette brings her hand to her forehead and struggles to keep her feet.

    (Tina) Bette?

(Bette) I’m sorry, I don’t know what’s happening, the room is spinning

Tina looks at her with concern as she tightens her hold around her back.

(Tina) Bette, come to the couch

Tina walks Bette over to the couch and guides her to sit, crouching in front of her and holding her hand to the side of Bette’s face as she examines her.

(Tina) I think we need to get you back to the hospital

(Bette) Tee I’m fine, I just need to sit down for a second I think

Bette brings her hand to her forehead as she has another wave of light-headedness, and Tina furrows her brow in concern.

(Tina) Maybe lie down, it might help

Tina places a cushion behind Bette’s head as she lies back and then kneels by the couch, placing her hand on Bette’s forearm.

(Tina) How are you feeling now?

(Bette) A little better. The room has stopped spinning

    Tina nods.

    (Tina) Has this been happening?

(Bette) No, this is the first time

Tina nods as she stands and retrieves her phone from her handbag. She makes her way back over to Bette and perches alongside her on the edge of the couch.

(Tina) Well let me call the hospital at least, I can describe what’s happened and see what they want us to do

Bette nods as Tina places the call and brings the phone to her ear.

    1. They both still need to address the elephant in the room. They are both in relationships. The pull between them is still so strong. They can’t just pretend that they aren’t involved with others. PPS
