Bette smiles and shakes her head, and Alice looks to Shane and Dana.

(Alice) Oh come on, you guys must see it too

Shane smiles and has a sip of beer.

(Shane) Just drink your beer Al

The doorbell rings and Bette makes her way to the front entrance. She opens the door to Tina smiling broadly at her.

(Bette smiles) Hey

Tina immediately steps towards her, pulling Bette close and kissing her as she moves her hands around her waist. They draw back and smile at each other.

(Tina) Hey

Their attention is drawn to a loud squeal followed by a splash coming from the garden. Tina looks back at Bette and smiles with raised eyebrows, and Bette cringes.

(Bette) I tried to call you. Sorry, everyone sort of invited themselves over. I hope you don’t mind

Tina laughs.

(Tina) It’s fine, sounds like fun out there

Bette looks at her for a moment.

(Bette) I’m sorry to ambush you like this

Tina smiles and runs her hands down Bette’s arms.

(Tina) Really, it’s fine. They’re escaping the heat as well?

Bette nods and they both turn and reach for the other’s hand as they walk through the house together.

They all settle in by the pool, Tina and Shane in the water while Alice and Dana lie on the sunloungers and Bette sits on the pool edge. They are all sipping on drinks as they chat.

(Dana) So you live close by Tina?

(Tina) Yes, I’m just around the corner

Bette and Tina meet eyes and smile at each other.

(Shane) And you’ve settled in? Are you enjoying LA?

Tina nods as she has a sip of beer.

(Tina) I am, I think it actually suits me more than New York did. It’s a lot more relaxed really, and just a bit more me

(Alice) Nice to do this on a hot day too huh?

Tina smiles.

(Tina) Yes, it certainly is

Bette and Tina share another smile. They spend time relaxing in the sun and taking turns enjoying the water, all finding the company and the conversation very easy.

Later in the afternoon, Alice and Tina are chatting in the water while Bette lies on the sunlounger and Shane and Dana have retreated inside to the kitchen.
