Chapter 90- Hiiiiii-Yaaaaaaah! Part 2
“What part of ‘I don’t ask questions’ did you not understand? For all I know, the people that they brought to the show are friends and family. As long as they are selling tickets, I don’t give a shit. And they’re pretty cool people so I have no beef with them if they want the resident gig here and I’m sure Bob isn’t going to mind either.”
“Resident gig? You think I’m going to allow them to be your resident band after they stiffed me on the agent position? Think again.”
“With all due respect, Jodi, that’s not your call.”
“The hell it isn’t. Get Bob on the phone right now.”
Alice and Carmen had made their way down the hall to the office and had overheard the heated discussion above the noisy bar and looked at one another with incredulity before making their presence known.
“Jodi, I’m not going to call Bob while he’s on vacation. He leaves the club business to me while he’s away. You know that.” Zack reminded the agent of the owner’s business practices. “Do you want your cut of the sales now or what?”
Alice’s eyes grew bigger as she finally decided it was time to step into the conversation.
“Wait just a damn minute.” She said as she and Carmen rounded the doorway, both of them with arms folded across their chests as they both laid eyes on Jodi. “Cut of what sales?”
Zack looked at Jodi expectantly with a slight smirk. He wasn’t going to be the one to tell the ladies what he was talking about. They may be small in stature, but he in no way doubted their ferocity.
Jodi scoffed at them all. “My cut of your ticket sales.”
“That wasn’t in the contract we signed.” Carmen declared.
“That’s because your contract was with Spaceland. Just like my contract is with Spaceland. I bring in the goods, I get a piece of the goods. Everyone wins.” Jodi’s smug attitude only served to intensify the glares she received from the two Stouts.
“Zack?” Alice inquired.
“I’m sorry, Alice, I thought you guys knew that Jodi would be taking a percentage of the ticket sales.”
“No, we were not aware that was the case, Zack.” Carmen responded.

For me this chapter was just the lenght i needed to be able to read it before going to work again. And it started my day with a laugh ???? Good punch from Alice, Jodi got what she deserved.
Sad to see the end is near, but i am already looking forward to your new stories.
I wish you a great week!
Thanks Bibi! Glad you enjoyed the punch!
Happy Easter MeLL,
Good job the scant 4 pages were so good or I might not have forgiven you:-)

Thanks for your faithful readership, Sassy!
LOL! Here we go again. Go Alice! Take that, Jodie! Wonderful, MeLL. Short, funny, nice banter with the Band and Bette.
Best line goes to Tina again: “She told me no.” I laughed out loud :-) With your story you’ve made me love Tina’s character even more than before.
Thank you for posting even though you’ve obviously been very busy. I’m looking forward to the last chapter as well as I dread it. Oh, I’ll save some of that for the final goodbye next week ;-)
Enjoy your week, stay safe,
cheers
KP
In Bette’s defense, she didn’t technically tell Tina no, but she didn’t exactly run out the door with Tina in tow either. And happy belated birthday! So sorry I missed it. Hope it was a good birthweekend! ????????
Great post.
????
Short and sweet like you said and i also see the punch was there too.. lol. Thank you see you next round lol..thank you
Thank you for sticking around! Cheers!
I know the feeling of bringing work home. I’ve done it today and I’m utterly exhausted. Yet, I’m here… reading your amazing stories. My work can wait ten more minutes! Another great chapter. As for Bette telling Tina no… oh, I wouldn’t be able to take that answer haha. :) can’t wait to read more.
12-14 hour days aren’t fun. There’s been many as of late. But enough about me. Thanks for reading, even if it is distracting you from work!
