    Chapter 90- Hiiiiii-Yaaaaaaah! Part 2

“Not aware that what was the case, Carmen?” Bette asked as she and Shane stepped into the office. She looked at Carmen expectantly before seeing that Jodi was standing next to Zack.

Alice pointed her finger at Jodi in disgust. “She gets…didn’t tell…slimy cuntface…I can’t even…Ohhh.” Alice was clearly having a hard time explaining herself.

    “English, Alice.” Shane quipped.

“Apparently, this bitch gets a cut of our ticket sales for tonight.” Carmen rescued Alice’s word vomit.

    “HUH!” Alice squeaked.

“What?” Shane and Bette uttered simultaneously.

“Oh, quit acting like this is some grand betrayal!” Jodi finally exclaimed. “You’re playing a great show, you’re getting paid, you’re selling CDs, I’m sure your social media feeds are blowing up. I don’t owe any of you an explanation.”

“You told me at your house that there were no strings.” Bette said.

“No, I told you I didn’t want anything from the band for booking the show. My cut comes from Spaceland’s cut. I’m not taking anything from your sister or the band.”

“You still misled me about this arrangement.”

“Cry me a fucking river, Bette.”

“Are you serious right now?” Bette ran her hand through her hair frustratedly. “Here I’ve been trying to give you the benefit of the doubt and Tina and James have been right about you all along. How did I not see it?”

“You think I give a shit what your fake ass girlfriend and my ex-gopher boy think about me? I’m here to get paid. Plain and simple. I am done doing anymore favors for your washed up sister and her shitty ass band.”

Shane, Carmen, and Alice collectively gasped before the room fell into an eerie silence as everyone stared at Jodi.

“Now if you’ll excuse us, Zack and I have business to attend to.” And with that, she turned back to Zack. “Give me my check so I can get out of here.”

“Oh, hell no.” Alice said with a glare still directed at the agent. She took two steps toward Jodi and tapped her on the shoulder. As Jodi turned around, Alice began winding back. “Hiiiiii-yaaaaaaah!” She yelled as she threw a solid punch that landed square on Jodi’s jaw to send her toppling over Zack’s desk.

“Holy shit!” Carmen, Bette, Shane and Zack all exclaimed in unison.

Alice shook out her hand as the contact it made with Jodi’s face hurt worse than she expected.

“Let’s go, Alice.” Shane said as she and Carmen quickly grabbed their bandmate and dragged her out of the office and back down the hallway towards the bar.

Bette walked closer to where Jodi was still heaped in a pile on the desk holding her face. “You’re lucky it was Alice that hit you. Because if it was me, I’m not sure that I would’ve stopped.” She looked up at Zack. “Meet us at the bar when you’re done.”

Stunned and wide-eyed, Zack nodded his head in agreement.

    3. LOL! Here we go again. Go Alice! Take that, Jodie! Wonderful, MeLL. Short, funny, nice banter with the Band and Bette.
Best line goes to Tina again: “She told me no.” I laughed out loud :-) With your story you’ve made me love Tina’s character even more than before.

Thank you for posting even though you’ve obviously been very busy. I’m looking forward to the last chapter as well as I dread it. Oh, I’ll save some of that for the final goodbye next week ;-)

      Enjoy your week, stay safe,
      cheers

      • In Bette’s defense, she didn’t technically tell Tina no, but she didn’t exactly run out the door with Tina in tow either. And happy belated birthday! So sorry I missed it. Hope it was a good birthweekend! ????????

    4. I know the feeling of bringing work home. I’ve done it today and I’m utterly exhausted. Yet, I’m here… reading your amazing stories. My work can wait ten more minutes! Another great chapter. As for Bette telling Tina no… oh, I wouldn’t be able to take that answer haha. :) can’t wait to read more.
