    Tibette beginning… She usually didn’t like the fuss, but she would gladly make an exception if the said fuss involved some special care from a certain blonde.

     

    “She’s been through a lot in the last few days… She really deserves a break. Hopefully she’ll be able to let go of all this ordeal now and go home to her loved ones. And her wife will take care of her… God, how lucky for us that she sent her jet, she just saved our butts!”

     

    Then he stood and looked at Bette with a smile,

     

    “Okay… I’m going to try and sleep a bit.” He said, “You should do the same Bette, you look exhausted.”

     

    The brunette nodded with a small smile, and the young man headed to the back of the plane.

     

    Bette’s smile slowly faded and she stared at the emptiness in front of her. Her heart sank in her chest and the most acute pain shot through her whole body. James’ words echoed in her head…

     

    … she really deserves a break…

     

    … go home to her loved ones…

     

    … her wife will take care of her…

     

    … she just saved our butts…

     

    The young man had spoken the truth that she had refused to admit to herself for the last few days. And even though it made her heart ache more painfully than it ever had, she knew that this truth was the only one that mattered for now.

     

    She didn’t have a choice… She had to step aside.

     

    She looked at the woman sleeping next to her. The woman that had entered her life and her heart like a giant wave that nothing can ever stop, simply because it’s been decided by the laws of nature. Except in this case, the blonde wave wouldn’t withdraw from her heart… Ever.

     

    Tina suddenly moved in her sleep and her head gently rolled on Bette’s shoulder. It wasn’t her injured shoulder, but had it been a big rock falling down on her wound, it couldn’t have been more painful.

     

    The brunette tilted her head and let her cheek lightly caress Tina’s hair. She could feel the tears in her throat and she swallowed with difficulty the lump residing there. But she didn’t move. How could she? The blonde’s feel was too addictive, her scent too exhilarating, her closeness too comforting… So, she just reveled in the moment, knowing that it would end soon… Too soon.

    5. I know her business keeps her hopping but I think Helena can feel Tina pulling away from her and that is why she is keeping her distance so she wont have to hear her say she thinks they are better off just being friends. Great chapter by the way.
