Tina felt her own anger stir as once again someone had cheated on Bette and broke her heart. She shook her head and sighed looking down at the binders Bette placed on her desk and opened one to get her mind off of it.

”Did you have your name on any property with her or was everything in her name” Tina asked as she scanned the financial records Bette had neatly prepared in the binder impressing Tina in the process.

Bette sighed.

”Everything was in her name. I was so fucking insanely head over heels in love with her at the time I let her control everything. I thought we would last forever . I guess that only exists in fairytales” Bette replied sadly with tears threatening to escape her eyes.

Tina turned off the recorder

”Bette? I really am sorry that you are going through this. I can see how much you loved her or you wouldn’t have devoted ten years of your life to her if you didn’t. I would be so lucky as to find someone like you that would do that for me. And I do believe that once you find that person you will have that forever” Tina explained in a soothing comforting tone as she watched Bette wipe tears away. Tina grabbed her Kleenex box and set it in front of Bette

Bette grabbed a tissue and wiped her nose and eyes

”Thanks.. I’m sorry. I’m a blubbering mess. It’s just hard. I mean it’s not like I want her back or anything..It’s just that I feel I have wasted my time and my life. Ten fucking years and what do I have to show for it? What am I getting out of all of this? ” Bette sniffled and lowered her head

”That’s why you have me. I’m going to take care of you Bette. We are going to hit Wendy’s camp hard. I will fight for you every step of the way and I will not let you down” Tina said giving Bette a warm smile as Bette raised her head to look at her.

”Thanks Tina. You have been so sweet just like-” Bette paused and stared off into space thinking about the mystery girl of the diary she had started to become infatuated with.
