    Do Better – Chapter Three

“I need to talk with Carrie. If she’s on some kind of downward spiral I’m to blame for that and I need to fix it.”

    “I understand.”

    ____

After countless attempts of calling Carrie with no success. I finally built the courage to go out and search for her.

I dial Shane’s number and meet her at Dana’s.

    “Hey, Tina.”

    “Hey!”

I embrace Shane for a hug.

    “Did you find her?”

“I did. She’s on her way here.”

    “Thanks so much Shane.”

“Listen Tina, she’s only coming here to apologize from last night.”

“I’m sorry if this causes any conflict between the two of you.”

    “Tina?”

My head quickly turns when I hear Carrie’s voice.

    “Carrie.”

“Was this some sort of set up?”

“I had no other choice, Carrie. I didn’t know what else to do to get you to talk to me.”

“Are you here to tell me off from last night’s encounter with Bette? And by the way Shane, I’m sorry you had to witness that.”

“No Carrie, I’m not here to scold you for that.”

“Then what are you here for?”

    “We need to talk, Carrie.”

“I think I made it pretty clear to you that I don’t want to talk to you.”

“Can you please let me talk?”

“Fine. Fine I’ll let you have your say.”

    “Can we get a table?”

We sit down and Carrie tries her hardest to avoid any type of eye contact with me.

“I know you probably don’t want to hear this and you probably won’t believe me but I’m worried about you.”

“Just like you are worried about me and Angie talking?”

“We already had that discussion. I didn’t appreciate you having my daughter lie to me.”

“Like the way you lied to me?”

“I didn’t mean for any of this to happen.”

“It’s like I told you before I always came third to you.”

“You did not come third to me. But you have to understand I have a family.”

“But it was always Bette Porter before me.”

“I know it may have seemed that way but Bette is Angie’s mother and Bette makes those decisions for her just like I do.”

“You know I know that but Tina it’s like I had to live up to that woman.”

    Comments

    1. Great chapter.

It still hurts Bette that Tina left her for that woman and now that woman is talking with Angie behind their back and I’m don’t trust her, she wants Angie to meet someone?

She is using Angie to hurt Bette and maybe Tina as well. And Angie thinks she is so grown up and think that woman can be trusted. No way.

Sorry, i can’t say out or write that woman’s name.

Bette going to work on herself is positive but Tina should do it too, Bette always blames herself but Tina played a very big part in their on and off relationships. She is known to hide her feelings and instead of talking to Bette she runs away every time it gets to much.

I’m enjoying this story. Thank you.
