Do Better – Chapter Three

“I know about the conversation you guys had on Angie’s phone. And I know it wasn’t a pleasant one.”
“She sure was determined to reach me even if the conversation was unpleasant.”
“I think you’re too drunk to realize the real reason she wanted to get in contact with you.”
“I know she was upset about Angie and I talking. And I bet it just digs under your skin to know what Angie and I were talking about.”
“Leave my daughter’s name out of your mouth.”
“Remember she left you for me. And I’m also the one who left her.”
I get more angrier by every word that spews out of Carrie’s mouth.
“I’ve had enough of your shit Carrie.” I say standing up. But I do want you to remember one thing. Tina will always come back to me.”
“Woah, woah. What’s happening here?”
I turn my body around to see Shane standing behind me.
“Go ahead Bette, play victim.” Carrie blurted and started to move closer to me.
“Excuse me?” I declared. “And back the fuck up from me.”
“Ok, guys. Enough.” Shane steps in between us. “What the hell is going on between you two?”
“It seems Carrie has taken it upon herself to approach me or should I say stalk me.”
“So I can no longer come to places Tina and you may attend? Am I to close my eyes when I see the two of you together?”
“It would be greatly appreciated if next time you keep to yourself.”
“This is a free world, Bette.”
“Ok guys, quit it.” Shane blurts out with her hands held in the air.
“She’s right. I’ve had enough of you Carrie. I had to tolerate you for years because of Tina. But I don’t have to do that anymore.” I turn and chug my drink down.
“Carrie I think it’s best you leave.” Shane steps towards Carrie.
“No, no it’s fine. I’m going to leave instead.” I look at Shane.
I give Carrie one last glance as my eyes burn with anger.

I start to blink into consciousness as I awake from my restless night of sleep.
My mind flashes back to Tina and I. Our night of reminiscing and laughter. I haven’t felt so at ease in such a long time. My smile soon fades and I register back to the reason my sleep was restless. Carrie and her encounter last night. Her obnoxious voice and the way she is so dry with her jokes. I’ve despised her since the first day I met her.

O.ooo, my eyes went wide with this last sentence…
Great chapter.
It still hurts Bette that Tina left her for that woman and now that woman is talking with Angie behind their back and I’m don’t trust her, she wants Angie to meet someone?
She is using Angie to hurt Bette and maybe Tina as well. And Angie thinks she is so grown up and think that woman can be trusted. No way.
Sorry, i can’t say out or write that woman’s name.
Bette going to work on herself is positive but Tina should do it too, Bette always blames herself but Tina played a very big part in their on and off relationships. She is known to hide her feelings and instead of talking to Bette she runs away every time it gets to much.
I’m enjoying this story. Thank you.
