Don’t Give Up #22 Part One

    Nodding I agreed I needed this… I needed her.
    —————

Sinking into the warm water I started to feel myself relax. It had been a long day emotionally and I still was yet to talk to Tina. Tina and Helena were both at work so it enabled me to be free and not so tense. I had been cautious about Tina returning to work after the scare we had but I knew I could no longer wrap her up in cotton wool, it wasn’t good for either of us.
We needs to talk tonight. I knew I wasn’t ready to divulge everything but I was willing to at least try with the more simplistic things.

Explaining to Helena my plans she said she would make plans to leave me and Tina alone for a while. After tonight I told myself it was time to move back home, give Helena back her space. It was time to stand on my own two feet and find some sense of normality.

As I filled the two wine glasses with sparkling water I heard a knock at the door. Quickly placing the glasses back onto the table I walked the short distance to the large wooden doors.

"Oh it’s you… I wondered who would be calling by at this time." I smiled as Tina offered a smirk back, taking some of the bags she had been carrying from her.

"Sorry I forgot my keys this morning. I guess I would forget my brain entirely if I could".
We both chuckled finding the ease that once was tension feel suddenly comforting in one another’s presence.

"I know you’ve probably had a long day but I was hoping we could talk over dinner? If you haven’t got plans that is."

Slowly placing the bags onto the counter, I unpacked them waiting for the sweet voice to consume me.

"Yeah it has been a long day but there’s no better way I’d rather spend my evening."

I gulped hard as I hadn’t expected those slender arms to wrap around my waist. I wasn’t even aware she had been that close. I found myself caressing her arms feeling somehow overjoyed she had knew I needed to be held in a way that showed me she was strong for us both.
