Tina smiled “I definitely noticed you and from what I just saw I think the fans will notice you too.  You definitely impressed me with just the little bit I saw”

“Would you like to see more?” Bette asked ready to do anything to impress Tina and help her friend Karen in the process

Tina placed her fingers on her chin in thought

“Do the 10 step combination we perform in Karma”

Bette nods and prepares herself.  She taps her finger against her leg to initiate her count and performs the choreography flawlessly

Tina claps her hands “Bette I don’t need to see any more..You are amazing.  Why didn’t you try out with Karen when I was calling for dancer auditions”

Bette steps down from the stage and stops in front of Tina

“Well honestly I wanted Karen to have this.  It made me guilty getting chosen over her at most auditions when she works twice as hard as I do and I didn’t want to steal her spotlight or compete with her when she was so excited about this opportunity”

“I could have picked you both.  I had final say obviously” Tina chuckled

Bette smiled “Like I said..I wanted her to have this…She’s my roommate and  has been my best friend since we started dance school as kids.  I wanted her to have all the spotlight”

“That’s sweet Bette but don’t pass up incredible opportunities when it could lead to bigger things.  And you are destined for great things with your dancing…And if I am allowed to say….your beauty” Tina compliments and chuckles at Bette’s bashful look

“Thanks but I would never be able to outshine your beauty on stage or off.  If I may say so” Bette replies Shelby running the back of her neck nervously with her hand

Tina chuckles “Bette.. That’s so sweet..But you don’t have to flatter me.  The job is yours if you want it and are able to just pack up go on the road with us.  We leave tomorrow for Chicago and I’m sure I can get Jessie to fit you with our extra costumes..I’m so glad I told her to do that”

“Well..I wasn’t trying to flatter you.  I was speaking the truth but I would love to go on the road.  I am doing this for Karen…..But more so…..I’m doing it for myself”

Tina smiled widely at this “Now that’s what I like to hear!  she says pulling Bette into an unsuspecting hug…Bette almost melted at the contact of feeling the famous singer against her body.

Tina pulled back and patted Bette on the sides of her arms

“Ok.  I need you to go with me to see Ollie.  He is my tour manager.  He will give you the tour schedule and the time to meet the tour bus in the morning..Pam is my manager which you will meet in Chicago and she will give you the contract to sign once we arrive there…You can discuss any issues or problems regarding pay or your contract with her.  Anything you will need during the tour you direct to Ollie” she pauses for a moment as she gently grabs Bette by the arm to walk her out “and of course I’m also here if you need anything.  I take care of my crew..Especially my dancers” she says giving a sly smile to Bette

Bette returns the smile “Well it sounds like I will be in good hands”

Tina nodded “That you will”
