“I hadn’t considered sending her to camp. Babe what do you think? Are you ready for that? Having her so far away for two weeks?” Tina asked Bette.

“I’m not sure I’m ready but it might be a good idea considering everything we have going on this summer. I know we talked about each of us having our week with her but this might be better. We also need to plan for her birthday.” Bette answered as the idea started to sound pretty good.

“Maybe we can do the family camping trip weekend close to her birthday and invite Suzie and Jackie to come up. We would need to check on the available activities but that might be fun.” Tina suggested.

“That does sound like a good idea. Let’s talk to Lisa. I’ll check with the moms about Suzie and Jackie. Maybe all four of them could go to camp together. That would be even better. James let Lisa know that we are definitely thinking about it and we’ll talk later for sure.“

“OK Ladies. I have to get going. I’ll see you at the gallery later. I have my cell phone if you need me.” They all say goodbye to James and change the conversation to Leigh and Shane.

“Leigh, Bette tells me that you’ve decided to rent Jenny’s studio for your work and that you are interested in buying the condo.” Tina inquired.

“Yes I was going to talk to you when we got back. I appreciate you holding off on your decision until Shane and I made ours but I am ready to make an offer.”

“OK we’ll get the paper work started when we get back to Los Angeles. I’ll give you my realtors contact information. You guys can work out schedules for appraisals and inspections and all that. OK?”

“Sounds good.”

“So what’s the deal with Shane? Bette told me about your concerns. How can we help?”

“As I told Bette I think Shane’s on a downward spiral and I’d like to help if I can.”

“You know she’s always been the wildcard in the group so maybe we have missed some signs. What with Jenny being gone, Alice missing Tasha and Bette and I being wrapped up in each other I guess she is left out there on her own. I’m glad you’ve taken an interest in her well-being Leigh since apparently we’ve lost touch. As much as we live next door to each other we really don’t spend that much time with her. Once we move away it will be even tougher but at least you’ll be close by.”
