”Yes, ma’am.” Emma looks down and smiles at Angelica. ”And you must be the culprit of all those cool toys and awesome Lego collection?”
”Yep.” Angelica giggles.
Tina smiles at her daughter and then looks at Emma. ”Did the movers get everything all moved in?”
”Yes, ma’am, that’s why I couldn’t meet you guys at the airport. They still had a few things to get in, and I wanted to just stick around in case they needed anything.”
”Oh, don’t apologize. I appreciate all you’ve done already,” Tina responds.
Angelica looks up at her mother. ”Can we go in now, Mom? I wanna see my room.”
Tina nods. ”Yeah, let’s go check it out.”
”Yay!” Angelica exclaims.
Emma steps aside and allows the new homeowners to walk inside.
They step into the foyer, and the first thing that catches Tina’s eye is the large chandelier hanging from the ceiling. It overlooks the imperial staircase that spirals down to the black and white checkered floors. A small table with two long white candles sits between the two sides of the stairs.
Angelica runs up the left side of the stairs. ”Cool!” she exclaims.
Tina twirls around the room with an impressed smile on her face. ”Cool indeed.”
Emma is relieved. She smiles and puts her hand over her heart. ”Oh good, you like it. I know you still have to see the rest of the house, but it’s a good sign you’re impressed so far.”
”Facetime doesn’t do it justice, I’ll tell ya that,” Tina replies as she walks around the room. ”I’m gonna check out the rest of the house. Why don’t you go salvage the rest of your day.”
”Are you sure? I don’t mind hanging around in case you need anything.”
”No, you go ahead. We’ll be fine.”
”Okay, I will see you on Monday then?”
”Bright and early,” Tina says as she smiles and nods affirmatively.
Emma walks away and then turns right back to face Tina. ”Oh, I almost forgot,” she states as she reaches into her purse and pulls out a set of keys. ”Here is the key for the company car; it’s in the garage, and your house key is on the table.”
Tina takes the key from Emma. ”Cool. Thank you.”
