    It’s the last night and then time to go home.

     

    ‘I’m awake.’

     

    Bette pulled her hand away, ‘Sorry T, I thought’

     

    ‘It’s all right.  I can’t seem to fall asleep.’

     

    ‘You’ve been awake all this time?’

     

    ‘Yes, silly isn’t it?’

     

    ‘What’s that T?’

     

    ‘That we’ve both been awake and haven’t said anything, are you all right?’

     

    ‘Too much to think about I guess.  Would you like me to get you some tea?  That might help you fall asleep.’

     

    ‘You could tell me a story.’

     

    ‘Are you saying my stories put you to sleep?’

     

    ‘No, I find listening to you very soothing.’

     

    ‘All right, what story would you like to hear?’

     

    ‘You decide, is this all right?’

     

    Tina snuggled close to Bette.

     

    ‘Of course it is.  All right let’s see, I know.’

     

     ‘Once, not so very long ago, a young gallery owner, a lonely young gallery owner, was about to experience a life altering moment.  Up until then she had filled her days with her career and her nights with empty trysts.  On the outside she appeared to have everything, her own gallery, good friends and usually a beautiful woman in tow.  But on the inside, when she allowed herself to think about her life, she knew things weren’t always what they appeared.  Without having someone of substance to share her life things seemed empty and of little consequence.  She knew something important was missing from her life.  She had never thought much about falling in love and spending her life with just one person, but she knew she wasn’t happy with her life the way things were.

     

    But this night, everything as she knew it was about to change.  This was the night of an important opening at her gallery and as consumed with its success as she was, when she turned around and out of nowhere there stood the most beautiful woman she had ever seen everything else just disappeared.  All she could see was this woman with golden hair that looked soft as silk, warm and inviting eyes of the richest brown and a smile that made the moon and the stars pale.  And then she realized there was a problem, hopefully a small one, but a problem nonetheless.  The beautiful young blonde was with a “toad”!’

    6. I was holding my breathe the entire story with a pit in my tummy wondering what would happen. Great story, the loving make scene would be a great ending ;)
