I Will Not Let You Fall

Recoiling slightly, Tina spinned around only to be trapped in the strong grip of her lover, who had fallen to her kneels. Tina’s hands flew to her mouth as she gasped out loud at the sight of the distraught woman in front of her. Bette’s face was shining with a layer of sweat, the bewildered bloodshot eyes looking up at Tina pleadingly — the look of fear, hopelessness and absolute terror. There were blood traces on her clothes, a smeared bloodprint on the side of her neck, her hands were stained with blood.

”Tina…” Bette let out in a shaky whisper, her eyes darting back and forth between Tina’s.

The blonde stood completely rigid, locked in against Bette’s hold, consumed with dread and unable to utter a single word.

”It’s over, Tee… I hope you–” the brunette chocked, a sob in her voice. ”I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me sometime…” she took Tina’s hand and placed a tender kiss on the back of it. ”From now on – wherever you are and whatever the time is, whoever you are with – always remember that you carry my heart inside you. With every breath that I breath, with every waking and sleeping moment I will think of you. Please always remember this…”

Just when Albert and Amy Kennard came running out of the house, a group of police officers appeared in the backyard, all approaching cautiously and pointing their guns at Bette.

”Jesus Christ! Tina!” Amy cried out while Albert held her back, letting the law enforcement do their job.

”Step to the side, turn around and put your hands behind your head, NOW!” a police officer commanded with vehemence and determination.

Not breaking eye contact with Tina, Bette slowly raised her arms. Everyone waited with bated breath while the officers were getting closer and closer.

”Ma’am, step away from her,” the officer addressed Tina.

”Baby, do what they say,” Bette whispered to the dazed blonde.

Moving away from Bette numbly, Tina stared at the still kneeling woman in despondence.

”Get down on the ground!” officers yelled at Bette, who wasn’t responding to their commands. ”I will not repeat twice!”

In a split moment two officers jumped to her sides and wrestled her facedown onto the ground.

”Oh my God, nooo!” Tina burst into tears, watching as the officers almost wrung Bette’s arms out while attempting to handcuff her. Amy and Albert quickly got to Tina and dragged her farther away. ”STOP IT!” Tina screamed in hysterics.

A police helicopter was cruising over the house high in the air, sirens were wailing all around as officers lifted Bette from the ground to a half-bent position and began walking her away.

Albert Kennard held his daughter tight to his chest as the young woman sobbed her heart out like there was no tomorrow. And for Tina, there wasn’t anymore.

    1. Hi Valerie:

OH, MY GOD, this chapter is amazing, and very hard for me, I needed a cup of tea and cookies to read it, during my lunch break in my job; you made it so real, like watching the movie.

I think that finally, Bette touched bottom I hope she won’t fell farther, and she could start changing things, she needs to think in a wisdomly way; Arnodelo is looking for her, and her only choice is to make a deal with the prosecutor and give away Armodelo and his cartel and gang; she has some money she needs a very good attorney; she has to start thinking about a new begining with Tina, after she pays her bill to society (which I hope will be low, with the help of a lawyer) to the system; anyway, the people she killed were criminal, and she didn’t kill the girl, Miranda, that was killed by Dominic and Arnodelo.
Wow, Valerie, the story is very good, I hope the end would be very good also.

Thank you so much for the wonderful and spine-chilling chapter.

I’ll be anxiously waiting for the next one, pps.

    2. Wow! Thank you for an amazing yet very tearful (for me) chapter! I was hoping beyond hope that Bette was an undercover cop but it doesn’t look like it! Anxiously awaiting for next chapter! By the way you are a great writer!

    3. Hope, Tasha is alive – not to add to all other charges against Bette. Shane is a great friend indeed. And Tina is a bit of a disappointment to me. Maybe she is just too young to fight for her love. So its a big question, who will not let fall whom…
Thanks for the great story! That’s definitely not the end yet, is it?
