    The surrounding atmosphere thickened. Bette knew that feeling as the world around her rocked and swayed unsteadily. Her breath caught when she realized she wasn’t breathing. She would’ve screamed or run or done something, but as she stared at those warm hazel eyes, she could feel her chest tighten and her heart thundering in her ears, beating at a dangerous speed.

    Bette saw the other woman swallow hard, her eyes so wide as she appeared to be struggling to breathe as well and was obviously unable to believe who she was seeing in front of her.

    ”When were you released from prison?” Tina asked evenly, mechanically after her face changed from wide-eyed shock to a dark, serious frown.

    ”In August,” Bette answered, her tone identical to Tina’s.

    Bette caught the slight wince cross Tina’s face before the blonde dropped her head. Clearing her throat uncomfortably, Bette averted her gaze too, realizing that Ayola was still standing next to her, watching the encounter in confusion and trying not to meddle.

    ”Bette, we need to talk,” Tina declared, a weary note on her voice. There was another shift in her face expression as she was now looking at Bette with despondency reflected in her tired eyes. ”I have something to tell you that I believe is in your best interest.”

    Bette swallowed, hanging on Tina’s every word. ”Alright.”

    ”So uh…” the blonde stammered, rubbing her temples. She then pulled herself together, got her business card out of her purse and handed it to Bette. ”Just call me when you’re free.”

    Bette watched Tina take a hold of her trolley and hurriedly disappear out of her sight without looking back. The brunette lowered her head and studied the business card. It was colored in red and white, had Tina’s full name on it, her job title and her contact information. There also was her company’s logo.

    ”She works at Showtime,” Ayola pointed out abrubtly, peeking into the card in Bette’s hand. ”Wow, and I was wondering where I had seen her. She’s our production accountant.”

    Bette took a breath and closed her eyes. She felt utterly overwhelmed. In her wildest dreams she hadn’t imagined that the impact of meeting Tina for the first time after all these years would be so devastating.

      Just had a break when i saw that you posted a new update.

      It is fantastic that Bette is finding her way back in life and has such a wonderfull friend in Ayola.

      So they finally met again, wonder what Tina has to tell Bette. You are such a naughty girl to not disclose it in this chapter.

      Why do i have a feeling that Tina moved on with Helena?! That would be the ultimal betrayal that she could inflict on Bette.

      Can i pursue you to answer that question via a pm to me?! I would go crazy till you update again, so please, please tell me🙏

      I think it’s going to be hard, but they have to find their way back to each other, that type of love can’t be downgraded to friendship, it’s a whole thing or its nothing, I don’t think they have more choices.❤

      this is my fav fanfiction so far..
      it breaks my heart seeing how hard for Bette to get her life back..so much that she has lost..
      couldn’t imagine if ayola wasn’t there to help her.
      but i hope they stay their relationship as friend..cos i’m still hoping somehow, somewhere Bette and Tina could find their way back together..and this time Tina could proof her love to Bette by staying by her side as her promised.
      it’s suprised me that Tina has moved on with her life and has lived together with someone else…
      i really thought after Tina read Bette’s handwriting in her apartment, Tina would tried with all her power to proof her love to Bette by keeping her promise to stay by waiting for Bette…

      now that Tina and Bette has met again, please..please…please…. don’t let us waiting too long..
      couldn’t wait to read for the next Chapter..
