”Well yeah, we’ve already hired an account executive. Technically, we could carry on with him alone without an accountant to save money. However, I’ve discussed it with Leo, you know, with my business developer, and I’ve concluded that we actually do need an accountant to perform a more in-depth analysis. You of all people should know that an account executive can’t plough a lone furrow.”
The blonde was looking Bette in the eyes, but the look seemed distant as she contemplated the newly received information with thoughtful distress. ”Wow,” was all she said.
Bette smiled a reassuring smile this time. ”Take all the time you need to think about it, T. There’s no pressure. No rush,” she persuaded in a gentle manner. Her touch moved higher again, and she stroked Tina’s back, soothing away any fear or doubt Tina might be experiencing. ”When you’re ready, and if your interest is keen enough, then come to my office and bring your resume with you. If not, then I will respect that. Whatever your decision is, I promise to support you in every way I can.”
Tina paused, watching Bette watch her with such affection, and for a moment Tina forgot all her worries. She saw the depth of Bette’s love in those bottomless pools of chocolate brown, love so pure that it made Tina feel lightheaded, even overwhelmed to realize she was the lucky recipient.
”Alright?” Bette whispered and leaned forward for a kiss. She savored Tina’s lips with the softest of gentle explorations. Before long she retreated and looked at Tina expectantly.
With a sigh, Tina nodded and finally gave Bette a smile of acceptance and gratitude.
”I gotta go now,” Bette announced abruptly and planted one last quick kiss on Tina’s mouth before relaxing her hold.
”What? Where?” grasping the front of Bette’s shirt to keep her from leaving, Tina asked with a bit too much zeal than had been intended.
”I’m hanging out with Chad tonight,” Bette smiled. ”I promised to take him to the Museum of Transport and Technology.”
Tina bit her lip. Bette had just come home, had gotten her excited in so many ways, only to run off. She sighed in resignation. ”Does Melissa know you’re taking her child somewhere?”

So, first – i’m not sure it was a good idea for Bette and Tina working together. And not only together, but Bette being Tina’s boss. I understand Tina’s concerns about it when she talked with Dan. Let’s see how it will go. And second – as i understand they want to keep their relationship in secret on work? Not sure how they manage to do it also.
Third – i like how Bette asked forgiveness for her behavior when she even could take a call from Tina. I hope this situation wouldn’t repeat in the future.
So, thank you for the chapter again and waiting for the next!

Like Tina, i also hope when Bette would be dealing with her competition on the work she will be smart and doesn’t try to remember her past.

Great chapter, so much love and listening, still, both girls (now women) are growing.
I like that Tina talked with Dan about her fears. And Dan is correct, it depends on the maturity of the couple that working together could be an obstacle or great support in their relationship.
But, what worries me is that all the publicity about the new firm may bring curiously and perhaps Interpol will dig on who is who and many could be caught.
Another fear I have is that Bette would go back to her old ways if her competitors keep pressing her.
Anyway, I hope things would keep going well and even better for them.

Very nice I loved it, and I love that Tina will be working for her. I think in the long run it will give Tina peace of mind being in the loop a little more.

I love this story.. Since the very beginning .. It’s so heart breaking to see how life had been so unfair for Bette if only Melvin cared about his own daughter she wouldn’t have to live her life in crime, so upset because how Tina couldn’t be strong enough to be her shelter, so in love with the Mature Tina who could start appreciated her love one, so mad with Helena who couldn’t let Bette and Tina alone with their new found happiness.. But finally happy when i see Bette and Tina are in a way to reconnect again… Love then both.. :)
