Bette’s gentle words were enough to make Tina burst into tears – Bette hugged her and they embraced. Tina was sobbing – how could one person be so perfect ? How could Bette Porter who looked like some cat walk model also be a wonderful lover and a kind and loving person and also be so generous ?
“Its okay “ Bette had expected this reaction given how she reacted to any small gift. She hugged Tina tight and allowed all her senses to relish how good it felt to be close to Tina. After several minutes Tina eased away
“I don’t deserve you “
“Well tough – you are stuck with me “
Tina stroked Bette’s face and kissed her fully and hard on the lips
“Thank you – “ Tina shook her head again “I – I well – thank you “
Bette grinned “You can play with it when I have gone “
Tina looked at Bette “ Who says you are going anywhere “
“I have to go to work “ Bette protested
Tina raised one eyebrow “ You are going nowhere “
“I could tell James I was coming in late “
“You are staying until I say otherwise “ Tina replied popping open a couple of buttons on her shirt. Bette raised one eyebrow

Tina opened all the buttons on her shirt and let it hang open. She saw the way that Bette reacted – the look in her eyes was so special for her. Bette eased the material of the shirt apart and looked lovingly at Tina’s naked body. This was the body of the woman that she knew she was in love with – she just didn’t know how to tell Tina of how deep her feelings were beginning to run.

“I want you “ Tina said seductively
Bette breathed deeply – there was no way she wanted to deny how much she ached for Tina but equally she didn’t want Tina to feel that just because she bought her a gift that she was demanding some sort of “payment in kind “. Tina had simply overwhelmed her a few nights earlier just because of one red rose. Bette should have expected this reaction. Almost despite herself Bette let her hands move over Tina’s soft, appealing flesh. Tina closed her eyes as Bette cupped Tina’s breasts in her hands – she stroked them with the tips of her fingers and then pressed against them with the palms of her hands
“I am yours “ Tina said with her eyes half closed
Bette wanted Tina – fuck how could she not want this woman – how could she not crave this beautiful and passionate woman. She was in love with Tina and she was at the stage of her emotions where she could not imagine refusing the slightest come on from the blonde.
“I should be at work “ Bette said – aware that she sounded slightly feeble
“More than you want me ?” Tina replied opening her eyes and giving her THAT look that had an effect on almost every part of Bette’s body. Bette briefly weighed up the possibility of still saying no to Tina – she knew it wasn’t going to happen. She pulled Tina close and kissed her passionately
“I want you “ Bette replied after one very long all consuming kiss.
Tina looked at her and touched Bette’s warm over-coat “ You want to remove that maybe “
“Of course “ Bette stood up and removed her coat and walked across to hang her coat up. For good measure as she wasn’t going anywhere except into Tina’s bedroom she unlaced and removed her boots. Tina had opened the box that contained her new I-phone and she was looking at it in awe. Bette smiled – it gave her such a warm thrill to see the happiness on Tina’s face. Bette padded across and joined Tina on the sofa
“I will show you how to get whatever apps you want “
“Thank you “
“Its my pleasure “ Bette replied “We also owe Helena one for diverting everyone attention. If I had bought it and then your mom had seen your new phone – we both know there would have been questions “
Tina raised one eyebrow “And did it occur to you that now my mother is going to be even more sure that I am Helena’s play thing “
“Fuck “
Tina smiled “You two must have been very drunk if that didn’t occur to you “
“We were “ Bette replied “Champagne will tend to do that to a person “
Tina put the phone back in the box and turned her attentions to Bette.
“No one has ever been so kind to me “
“Well that’s their problem – you are very special Ti – you deserve to be spoilt now and again”
Tina smiled and touched Bette’s face – there were still tears in her eyes as she stroked Bette’s face and placed a tender kiss on her lips. Bette just wanted to say three special words to Tina – to tell her that she had never dated a woman who made her feel the way that she – Tina Kennard did. Bette had found admitting her feelings was getting harder the older she got. She had fallen in love regularly when she had been an undergraduate – and every time she had been hurt. She had been more circumspect as she had matured. But there was no doubt in her own mind that she had fallen for Tina – she wanted to just tell her how she couldn’t stop thinking about her – how sex was the most stratospherically good – how just to see Tina smile made her heart sing for joy.
“I guess I am just not used to it “
“You need to get used to it “ Bette replied “I intend to treat you well “
A single tear trickled down Tina’s face “Wow “
Bette sighed – she needed to just tell Tina things
“I have lost girlfriends in the past because I have been too romantic and too – well Helena calls it my Knight in shining armour gene. I can’t help it – its just who I am and it happens when I fall for a woman “
Tina smiled “I think it’s a lovely trait “
Just tell her Bette – three words – the three words that if they get any bigger will come out of your stomach like the monster in Alien. Just tell her that you love her and that you want her and that you will do anything to make her happy. For God sake Bette just tell her.
Bette rested a hand on Tina’s waist and kissed her on the lips while having her own internal battle with whatever it was that was holding her back.

Bette realised that she couldn’t hold back her feelings any more. She didn’t want to – she needed to be true to herself and admit to the beautiful blonde just how intense her feelings were. So Bette let go of all of her internal brakes
