    Bette removed her long coat and carefully placed it over a chair before sitting down facing Tina.
    “You okay ?”

    “I am just taking all this in “ Tina admitted “Would you like to tell me everything that has happened ?”
    Bette smiled – she wouldn’t even have admitted this to Helena but she had rehearsed this little story telling in the bath that afternoon as she had started to get ready to meet her fellow victim.
    “I will try – about six – maybe seven weeks ago my parents told me that they had met up again with someone they were very close to at college “

    “Emma Kennard – now a senior partner in Kennard, Truman and Black. They were really pleased to be back in touch with her and I know my mom has lunch with your mom at least once a week – usually more. One lunchtime I met your mom. She was nice and interesting but she did ask some strange questions “
    “She’s a lawyer – I have had that since I was 4 “ Tina said dryly
    Bette smiled “Then one afternoon I took a long lunch and got back to my gallery to hear from my assistant James that a blonde woman had been trying to get into my office and she’d been asking a lot of questions “
    Tina snapped her fingers “The gallery ? “

    “She dragged me there on some pretence that she had developed an interest in art “

    “And when asked earlier in the week by my mother I told her that I would be at work in the gallery all week – I didn’t have any meetings or anything. It wasn’t planned to go to lunch with my best friend”
    “And the theatre ticket ? you know I got so much abuse from her over that and I couldn’t work out what
    was going on “

    “Well my father gave me the ticket and said that he had got it from a client. I fell for it but I was beginning to well – I was smelling a rat. “
    Tina smiled “My mother came to my apartment and gave me the ticket. When I didn’t show she gave me all sorts of abuse about that”
    “How did she know you didn’t go ?” Bette asked raising an eyebrow
    “Exactly and why was she making a federal case about it ? to me it was just a theatre ticket and I couldn’t see why she was getting at me – mind you she’s very good at it. “
    Just then Tina’s mobile sounded – Tina picked it up and raised an eyebrow

    2. Thanks for posting! I love the shenanigans that Tina and Bette are plotting. Let’s get their moms a little more desperate that their plans seems to fail a few more times. ;-)
