“Excuse me Ms Porter your table is ready “

Tina cursed – she really didn’t want to end this conversation with Bette Porter – she was enjoying herself despite her annoyance and she had to admit that her mother’s taste in women was just stunning.
Bette looked at Tina
“Why don’t you join me ?”

Tina shook her head – she would have loved to but the prices where way out of her range. She would be living on soup for the rest of the week if she accepted Bette’s offer. On the other hand was there any harm in a few days of restraint?
“Please Tina “ Bette said softly
Tina couldn’t halt the shudder – the way that Bette had spoke had just hit her in a very vulnerable spot. This woman was beautiful and she found herself wanting her . This woman had the power and she knew exactly how to use it.
“I don’t know “

“I set this up – I told my mom that I had a table booked here for tonight and I said that my friends couldn’t join me. I heard her ringing your mom and telling her to get a reservation. I wanted to meet you so we weren’t being played by our mothers . Please let me buy dinner “
Tina smiled – she wanted to say yes because she was fascinated by this woman – this utterly beautiful and desirable woman.
“Thank you – its very kind of you “

Bette beamed “Excellent “

“I have a reservation under the name Emma Kennard – can you cancel it – I’ll be dining with Ms Porter “ Tina spoke
“Certainly madam – if you will both step this way “

Bette walked behind the waiter celebrating the success of her plan. Maybe she could give her mom a tip or three on how to really engineer a situation to your own advantage. She had researched Emma Kennard and had found the website of the practice. Then she had found a section on the staff picnic and that’s when she had seen the picture of Emma and Tina together. There was no possible doubt that Emma was Tina’s mother – that was when Bette remembered that her own mom had said that Emma had a daughter but nothing else had been added to that piece of information. Bette had really been drawn to the younger Kennard which was why she had decided to turn the tables slightly and manoeuvre the situation so she was the only one who knew what was going on. Tina in the flesh was even more delicious than the picture Bette had seen on the website. So far everything was going according to plan.
Reaching their table Bette pulled the chair out for Tina to sit down and carefully eased it forward so she was sitting at the table comfortably. She dismissed the waiter with one look and handed the menu he had given her to the blonde
