Bette smiled
“Hello mom – yeah I am here waiting for you – an urgent case ?”
Tina pulled a face at Bette “ How urgent can a case be ? right – retrial and no one else to take the case. No – of course you must work on the case. Yeah – nah – I’ll probably just shuffle off home –shame I got all dressed up as well. No mom – I couldn’t do that – no really I couldn’t. Its out of the question – got to go mom – I’ll call you on Saturday and maybe we can do something – yeah – I’d like that – okay – bye mom – good luck with the case “
Tina ended the call and laughed
“The devious, scheming old bag “
Bette laughed
“The damn fraud – she’s the freaking senior partner and she can’t assign a retrial to anyone else so she has to do it. I am offended that she thinks I am that stupid “
“She’s had a while to think that one out as well “
“Really ?”
Bette smiled “ I am embarrassed about this but – well –I thought it was your mom who was interested in me “
Tina looked at Bette and grinned “I can see that would freak you “
“No – no – she’s a very handsome woman and she’s obviously charming and nice and…”
“Bette – I know what my mom is like and I can see why you would think that – its okay. I am not offended – honest its fine “
Bette smiled “I didn’t want you to think that I was being rude”
“I don’t think that at all –what I think of my mother is slightly less polite”
“So we seem to be the victims of an elaborate plot from chiefly our mothers –I think my father could reasonable claim in court that he was coerced. “
Tina shook her head “ I am sorry “
Bette smiled and picked up her wine
“I was pretty angry when I figured it out and I am not about to let my mother get away with it but I can see the funny side “
Tina smiled “It’s so typical of my mother – she always thinks that she knows best “

Thanks for posting! I love the shenanigans that Tina and Bette are plotting. Let’s get their moms a little more desperate that their plans seems to fail a few more times. ;-)
