“What for? I thought your loaded girlfriend was making sure that you lived a comfortable life?”
“I’m not Porter’s kept woman if that’s what you’re implying..” Tina pointed the tip of her pen at the brunette. Though Melvin insisted on paying for her tuition, she never asked for money from Bette and her bottomless bank account. Ken always sent her a decent allowance every week – and she would often contribute her fair share when it came to groceries and utility bills – something which her girlfriend didn’t want her to do but she always insisted on doing all the same. She wanted their relationship to be balanced in some way. “I just need the extra money because I’m saving for something.”
“Yeah? What?”
The blonde smiled. “It’s Porter’s birthday in three weeks, and our anniversary too. So I want to do something special.”
“Anniversary again? What are you celebrating this time, your first date?” Kate chuckled.
“Ha-ha.” Tina rolled her eyes and flicked a spitball made from napkin towards the brunette. “Its our real anniversary this time.”
“Okay, okay. So what are you getting your girlfriend that would entail a part-time job as..” She peeked at one of Tina’s choices and smirked. “..a receptionist-slash-waitress at IHOP?”
The blonde ignored the teasing edge in Kate’s voice as she took out a folded brochure inside her bag. “This..” She handed it to the brunette. It was about a classic car show in Maine that would coincide perfectly with Bette’s birthday. Shane handed it to her the other day knowing that she was already searching for something special to do on April 20.
“Wow..” Kate’s eyes bugged out as she gazed at the fancy looking cars adorning the cover. Such a pretty ambitious gift. “Um.. with all due respect Tina.. but I don’t think you can earn enough money carting around food to buy one of these classics.” She handed the brochure back to the blonde after flipping through it once. “I think you would have to wait tables for ten years to afford a tire from a classic car.”
“I know.” Tina laughed. “That’s why I’m not buying her a car. I’m saving money so I could pay for our trip – the show tickets, two nights at a bed and breakfast, gas, food expenses – the works!” She shared, all proud of her genius plan as she returned the brochure in its hiding place inside her screenwriting textbook.

stay away from the candles, ha – love it!! it will be interesting to see how bette reacts to kate cos even though she knows tina would never go for anyone else our bette is always impulsive, potentially jealous and definately capable of violence…bring.the.meeting.on!!! ooh and i agree with carolyn1m the “…” – always make me smirk!! pps alch!
Awesome …gla dthat U are back. I am gla dthat bette went to a therapy session…but she needs to open up to Tina. I also agree w/ Alice Kate is trouble. I love the teasing flirting goin on between Tina & Bette. So cute. Love it…
So like how snobby Alice is, and so protective. Cant wait to read how Bette will react to the filmaker wannabe. Love it

I have a feeling Bette is not gonna like Kate one bit! and while I’m glad she talked to Candance, I hope she tells Tina one of these days. PPS:)
Second post, I know, I’m working on getting a life. I was reading JTG I and came across the incest part, and then thought about IC insulting our intelligence with TK’s interrogation scene. Just wanted to mention that, tah for now. LOL
all caught up again… what a story… love this… so glad candice is not into bette… but this kate… she better watch her ass… can’t wait for the next chapter… PPS

Actually, this was an awesome chapter. I was able to see a young, bright, beautiful woman come to terms with her former behavior. Bette is growing up and becoming a better person. I am with Alice, I am not too found of Kate and you are making me nervous. Who is this new person that Bette is going to meet?
I was runnin’ way behind on this story and now I’m all caught up. I love this story but I see the drama on the horizon! Be careful…I have a fragile Tibette heart. LOL
I miss NYC, with the people pushing and shoving. NOT!!!!!! I’m happy that Bette had a good therapy session. But, I am trying to accept Candace as a GOOD person. Still trying to picture it. Still trying…… Kate is going to cause trouble for Tina. I hope Alice keeps a close eye on Kate, just in case Tina gets into trouble. Great post. PPS

Why do I have a bad feeling that Tina is going to catch Bette with Candace in the future.As for Kate, sure Bette will hate her… but she might play with her too. Kate could be a fun pet….That sounded better in my head.

I’m glad Bette’s getting therapy, and I hope she sticks with it, it’s clearly helping some. Kate = big trouble. I wonder if Bette will see right through the girl straight away, or will she be as oblivious as Tina is? …Nah. If her bff Sam has to maintain distance from Tina at all times outside of Bette’s supervision, I think Bette will hire a squadron of ninjas to keep Kate at bay. Great chapter, Alchemy, thanks!
I loved that phone conversation between Bette and Tina. VERY FUNNY. Okay I’m catching up. I still have many more chapters to read :)
