Tina looked up from her notebook, surprised that she had a guest. She wasn’t expecting company today since her friends were all busy – Bette was out of town and the others were in class. “Not really..” She smiled warmly at a grinning Kate.
“Could’ve fooled me. You always have your nose buried in a book or your notes every time I see you in campus.” The musician pointed out, pulling out a chair and sitting opposite the blonde. “Geek..” She ribbed playfully.
“I didn’t know studying was such a rare and peculiar thing to see in school..” The blonde smiled, her voice oozing with sarcasm. “Besides, this doesn’t have anything to do with my studies.” She lifted the small notebook and showed it to Kate – it was actually her schedule book.
“Oh. My bad.”
“What are you doing here? I thought you guys have this film viewing event this morning?” Tina asked, pulling out a newspaper from inside her bag and folding it so she could read the classified ads. The reason why she was at the Lounge for brunch when she was supposed to be in class was because their professors had a scheduled activity with Senior film students at the Whitney auditorium this morning. An event that Kate was supposed to be in.
“I skipped.” Kate answered plainly. “I went there to have my attendance checked then I sneaked out after fifteen minutes.”
Tina clicked her tongue reprovingly. “You’re missing out, I heard it was a great film.” She said distractedly while she encircled certain ads with a red pen.
“I’m sure it was.” Kate smirked cryptically. Not wanting to brag, she didn’t tell the blonde that she had seen that movie a hundred times already. It was one of her father’s earlier works – a film that she was made to sit through by her old man for hours on end when any good kid should be watching cartoons. Opting to change the topic, she tilted her head and tried to read what the blonde was busy working on. “You’re looking for a job?” She asked in surprise.
“Mm-hmm. Just a part-time job though.” Tina answered, biting her lower lip in concentration as she marked all the waitressing jobs in the list.

stay away from the candles, ha – love it!! it will be interesting to see how bette reacts to kate cos even though she knows tina would never go for anyone else our bette is always impulsive, potentially jealous and definately capable of violence…bring.the.meeting.on!!! ooh and i agree with carolyn1m the “…” – always make me smirk!! pps alch!
Awesome …gla dthat U are back. I am gla dthat bette went to a therapy session…but she needs to open up to Tina. I also agree w/ Alice Kate is trouble. I love the teasing flirting goin on between Tina & Bette. So cute. Love it…
So like how snobby Alice is, and so protective. Cant wait to read how Bette will react to the filmaker wannabe. Love it
Bette needs to come clean about her nightmares and the meetings with Candace before Tina finds out on her own! PPS
Genius, making Candy the shrink. Way to use the characters. I’m also glad that she is married, not that it has stopped anyone before. Hopefully she is happily married. Thanks for the post, I know finals are coming up, and you made time for this. Are you taking any summer classes?
I have a feeling Bette is not gonna like Kate one bit! and while I’m glad she talked to Candance, I hope she tells Tina one of these days. PPS:)
Second post, I know, I’m working on getting a life. I was reading JTG I and came across the incest part, and then thought about IC insulting our intelligence with TK’s interrogation scene. Just wanted to mention that, tah for now. LOL
all caught up again… what a story… love this… so glad candice is not into bette… but this kate… she better watch her ass… can’t wait for the next chapter… PPS

Actually, this was an awesome chapter. I was able to see a young, bright, beautiful woman come to terms with her former behavior. Bette is growing up and becoming a better person. I am with Alice, I am not too found of Kate and you are making me nervous. Who is this new person that Bette is going to meet?
I was runnin’ way behind on this story and now I’m all caught up. I love this story but I see the drama on the horizon! Be careful…I have a fragile Tibette heart. LOL
I miss NYC, with the people pushing and shoving. NOT!!!!!! I’m happy that Bette had a good therapy session. But, I am trying to accept Candace as a GOOD person. Still trying to picture it. Still trying…… Kate is going to cause trouble for Tina. I hope Alice keeps a close eye on Kate, just in case Tina gets into trouble. Great post. PPS

Why do I have a bad feeling that Tina is going to catch Bette with Candace in the future.As for Kate, sure Bette will hate her… but she might play with her too. Kate could be a fun pet….That sounded better in my head.

Ok I am taking back what I said about Candace, she is good here so that is fine lol. but this kate??? she does not want to live for long. I’m glad Bette’s getting therapy, and I hope she sticks with it, it’s clearly helping some. Kate = big trouble. I wonder if Bette will see right through the girl straight away, or will she be as oblivious as Tina is? …Nah. If her bff Sam has to maintain distance from Tina at all times outside of Bette’s supervision, I think Bette will hire a squadron of ninjas to keep Kate at bay. Great chapter, Alchemy, thanks!
I loved that phone conversation between Bette and Tina. VERY FUNNY. Okay I’m catching up. I still have many more chapters to read :)
