Tina knew she needed to spend more time with Bette, but she also knew that time was now on their side.

”Dr. Kennard….” Karina’s voice rang out in the hallway ”after our star-like performance we haven’t seen each other again, huh? I’d like someone to ask for our intervention again, you know?” Karina’s stride was confident, her makeup was flawless, as was her body, Tina thought, but in reality it had never attracted her.

”De Luca… Well, who knows, maybe one day, there are always emergencies…” Tina answered blandly as she walked toward the east hallway with her hands in her gown, she had a post-op consultation.

”In the meantime, we could repeat our outing…”

”But it was for work if I remember correctly…” Tina raised an eyebrow and Karina smiled mischievously.

Tina remained silent, she didn’t really want to blurt out her private life to the four winds, but Karina seemed quite insistent. But when she was about to speak, Bette and Karina’s brother Andrew appeared behind Karina’s shoulder. Andrew was taking Bette on her usual pre-lunch tour, corridors, stairs, curves, it was good training and the residents took turns competing to accompany her. Bette was excellent company and during physical activity she revealed professional secrets to them, helped them with their exams, and with the operations they had on hand.

Tina sank, her face red when Bette looked from her to Karina showing her best smile ”better than ever.” she said firmly shaking her hair off her shoulders ”your brother…he really is adorable. A man to marry”

Andrew strutted in front of his sister, Tina hid a smile, she knew what Bette was doing, that was her weapon and it excited her, she had seen many sides of Bette but never that. The brunette’s hands were on her hips.

Karina laughed fake ”I know… too bad I like women or I would have married him”

Bette didn’t laugh at that joke and Karina noticed so Tina intervened ”so how many kilometers did we do?”
