”uhm how many Andrew?” Bette looked away from Tina again

”almost nine…Bette..uhm…Dr. Porter is a wonder” the boy admitted.

”Well in a week if all goes well I’ll be out De Luca, and you’ll be enslaved by someone else…” Bette said teasingly

”well but you’ll be back in pediatrics” Karina said ”I know they’re waiting for you”

Bette glared at him ”well we never know what life has in store for us, nothing is guaranteed” Bette said firmly after which she left Karina’s eyes to return to Tina, a slow and languid hand passed from her shoulder to her arm. Tina shivered at the contact, her skin turned red, she could feel it but Bette didn’t flinch.

”I’ll be in the room in the afternoon you know where to find me, now I’ll continue the tour.” Bette nodded to Karina without saying a word and turned with Andrew following her like a little rabbit.

Tina and Karina stood there staring at Bette’s silhouette leaving, Tina could smell her aroma, her lavender essence, My God.

Tina turned and looked at Karina ”Well I better go or it’ll be late…we’ll meet around ok?”

”sure…” Karina replied cordially while Tina also walked away in the opposite direction.

When Tina entered Bette’s room after lunch, the brunette was next to the window with the armchair reading a book, reading glasses, luckily she was wearing them Tina thought.

Bette looked up and met the blonde’s eyes ”you found the way….” she smiled slightly.

Tina sighed laughing too ”I’m sorry about Karina, I didn’t think we would cross paths…”

”I’ve been doing this tour of the hospital for twelve days…” Bette said closing the book on her lap.

”no …. I meant with Karina … I didn’t think I would meet her … we’ll just see each other here.”

Bette tilted her head to the side examining the blonde ”is it a problem for you to meet her? Do you feel in difficulty?”

Tina thought about it, then shook her head ”no … uhm … I mean …. I really don’t know what she thinks she’s getting out of me.”

Bette laughed loudly, raising her head to the sky and closing her eyes, then she stood up, placed the book on the small bedside table full of her things and looked at the blonde.
