Let It Happen – Chapter XIV
Dr. Liz Tobin was highly recommended by everyone they consulted. And from the first five minutes into the initial consultation, they hit it off with her: she was now Liz, to their Bette and Tina. Their comfort level with Liz was a big factor in helping them weigh the positive aspects of when they would fully commit to the idea of having a child together, as against the negatives. Of which there were a few, particularly given their work loads.
”Come in, come in, ladies,” the doctor waved them to walk towards her office. ”You can sign in later… right Julie?” she called out over her shoulder to the receptionist, who was shaking her head at her, but grinning, as Liz continued walking down the hall. Bette and Tina turned to look at Julie, smiling at her also, both shrugging their shoulders. ”We’ll stop by later, Julie,” Bette said, in low, conspiratorial tones, and winking at the pretty redhead, who blushed and turned away to duck into the adjoining file room.
”Bette, must you flirt with every pretty face that you see?” Tina asked in mock exasperation, tilting her head towards the redhead who had turned away, blushing.
”I wasn’t flirting… honestly. I was just getting in on Liz’ joke,” Bette said, in faint protest.
Tina shook her head, pulling on Bette’s hand as they walked more quickly to Liz’ office
”So… ladies. Let’s just check-in with each other, ok?” as they sat down. She was looking down again at the charts in front of her.
Her tone turned serious, as she looked at Bette.
”Here’s what I’m seeing,” she started to say. She flipped the folder she was holding open. Bette and Tina saw a confusing series of bar charts, numbers, graphs, x-rays. They looked at each other, smiling and shaking their heads.
”Right, Liz,” Tina said, as she smiled at Liz. ”We don’t know what we’re supposed to be looking at.”
”Oh sorry, ” Liz said, grinning at the two of them, laughing slightly, and shaking her head.
“There are indications here of an occasional irregular heartbeat, Bette, and combined with other things, I would suggest that, between the two of you, perhaps you should consider Tina carry the baby.”
Bette and Tina looked at each other, smiled, and Bette responded, “Yeah, that’s what we were thinking, too.”

Please correct (for future writing) the use of the word every for
the correct word….ever! This error pops up frequently in your
otherwise wonderful stories.
For example….this page…in the question…”does it every bother you…”
instead of the correct…”does it ever bother you”.
