    Life: Altered 03.70 ~*~ Damned ~*~ Finale Part 1

“I said that the pictures were
Hamilton’s.  Cass said they weren’t.  I was right.”
    Tina said, giggling.  Cassandra
stuck her tongue out at her and Tina laughed harder.

“She’s always right.”  Cassandra said, and as Tina grabbed the bill,
Alice saw the engagement ring on her finger.

“OH MY GOD! “  Alice yelled, grabbing Tina’s hand, “You got
    engaged?”  Alice yelled, hugging Tina
hard and Quin extended her hand to Cassandra.

“Nice rock.”  Quin said and Cassandra laughed,

“You did point me to the
    jeweler.”  Cassandra said and Quin
    shrugged.

“You knew about this?”  Alice asked and Quin shrugged again, hands
deep in her pockets.  She swallowed hard,
there were things she just couldn’t tell Alice sometimes, opening up was
    sometimes to painful.

“I asked Quin the best place to find
a nice diamond.  She sent me to
Boone’s.”  Cassandra said and just then,
they saw Daisy storming out of the building.

                “*****.”  Tina said.

    ~*~*~*~*~*~

Daisy was at the bar, watching all
the pretty people, looking at the pretty things.  She didn’t feel like one of the pretty people
anymore.  She’d burned the one true
pretty thing in her life when she’d burned her relationship with Rosita.  She’d made the decision fast and hard, doing
in instantly before double thinking anything.
    Now she regretted it.

Bette moved over to her, an envelope
in her hands.  She looked at Daisy up and
down.  For some reason Daisy felt her
skin prickling as she looked her over.

“You are certainly not just 16 are
you?  You knew exactly what you were
doing when you broke Rosita’s heart.”
Daisy was taken back, not sure what to say.

“You know…” Daisy began, and Bette
    laughed,

“I do know.  You did what you thought was right.”  Bette said, handing the envelope to Daisy,
and the word  Daze  was scrawled on the top in Rosita’s
handwriting.  “Now you get to reap the
rewards of doing what was right.  For
Rosita.”  Bette said, walking away.  She knew she’d been hard on her, but she
    deserved it.  She’d broken Rosita’s
    heart.

                Daisy opened the envelope, seeing
just a short note.  She cleared her
    throat and read the note.

                Daze –

So I found out you broke it off with
me ‘cuz you were moving.  Wish you’d told
me, but now I’m glad you did whatcha did.
I can see you weren’t ready for what we had, to bad.  ‘Cuz it was great.  That thing, that we didn’t have?  It was beyond great.  I’m not so good with words as you are, just
write me a song someday.  I might hear it
on the radio and know it was for me.
Just wanted ya to know, I’m safe.
    I’m alive.
