“It crossed my mind to take you out in dad’s Rolls and park up somewhere private and make love to you in the back of the car “
Tina let her hand slip inside Bette’s jeans and stroke the soft hairs “Lets just say that this term we might get a little more adventurous than we’ve been so far “
Bette smiled “Really? “
“Yeah – really Ms Porter – just so as you will know when it happens that I have got a rather active imagination “
“I don’t doubt it for a second – any clues?”
Tina kissed Bette softly again “You will know when it happens “
They spent a lazy and loving evening eating too much and watching TV but they were both still recovering from jetlag so they went to Bette’s room at 10:30 and fell asleep almost instantly. When Bette woke up just after 8 Tina was collecting her towel
“Ah Tina – come back to bed babe “
“I’ve got too much to do Bette – I’m seeing my bank manager at 10 “
“That’s two hours away “
“And we need to clear the spare room – put the old stuff out of the way – find a second hand furniture place and get a desk, order a bed, buy sheets and a duvet and pillows “
Bette rolled out of bed and went to Tina
“Relax – it will be done – why are you seeing your bank manager?”
“Because I want to put most of the money into a savings account – maybe invest some of it. Plus my grant from the charitable trust is due into my account today “
“And I have the cheque from dad for the furniture – we don’t need to get second hand things – new bed, new curtains. Now come back to bed for a cuddle “
But Bette could see that Tina was too anxious for anything as relaxing as a cuddle. She grabbed her towel and took hold of Tina’s hand
“At least let me wash your hair in the shower “
It was every bit as crazy a day as Bette had expected. They first emptied the spare room – shifting boxes into the cellar and spooking each other by shutting the cellar door with the other one in the dark.

I can see both sides of it. Right now I’m not comfortable with walking around holding hands with a woman or whatever. But eventually I have to deal with it, right?
Wish I’d found a Bette at university. Wouldn’t have minded a Melvin and Peggy, either.
I understand Bettes point of view, but she is still young and inexperienced – with time and love she will move on….and nobody is better than Tina to do it with!! Great story Ally – BTW what happened to Dylan visiting Helena for Christmas?? Helena deserves to be happy too (now that she is doing her homework LOL) More please…
Ah, they both deserve each other. And if Bette has any problems with verbalizing her desires and needs in public, I can help her with that.

I have to say I’m with Tina on this one. I know it’s hard to get comfortable being the ‘other,’ but if you love your partner enough… you should want to show people that that love isn’t any different than theirs.
i agree, it’s been too long. They should go to their home and have sex right away….LOL
