“Why did you volunteer me for it?”
“Shane needs out support and Shay does as well”
“Yeah well –
“Also what are you planning for tomorrow? You said you were taking me with you?”
“Yeah” Alice grinned “I have some big big news!”

Bette learned closer as Alice whispered in her ear “Guess who is coming home?”
She shook her head “CARMEN!!!”

Bette sat back in her chair “Really?”
Alice nodded her head “Yep, she gets in tomorrow around 2:30. I have to pick her up from the airport and I was wondering if you fancy coming with me”
“Of course I will!”
“Cool, well we better get going”
“It’s only 1 Al”
“I know but I want to go run by my place, get changed you know. Its going to full of soccer mums!” Alice winked
Bette groaned and followed her out.

The Next Day – Friday

Shane looked at her watch and back at the queue of clients waiting to get their hair done. She had to pick shay up in 45minutes and there was no way she could get through everyone, looking at her watch once again she went over to her phone.
Picking it up she rang the first number that came to her mind.

Ring Ring – Ring ring – Ring ring

“Hello?”
“Hey Bette it’s me”
“Shane!!! Hey how are you?”
“good, look I was wondering if you could do me a favor?”
“Depends what it is”
“I’ve got a huge queue of people wanting to get their hair done and I’m not going to be done in time to pick Shay up, so I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind?”

“Bette, she’s here. We need to go!” Shane heard over the phone

“Was that Al?”
“Yeah, look I’m sorry Shane but I can’t. I’m at the airport at the moment with Alice. We won’t be back till about 6 with the traffic and everything.”
“Oh okay… why you are the airport?”
Bette pretended not to hear “See you in a while”

Shane looked at the phone “That was odd. Okay who else is there?” she picked the phone back up and rang Tina. Tina agreed straight away and told her that she would bring him to Wax.

LAX Airport

“Oooo look her flight has landed” Alice jumped up and down noticing that Carmen’s plane had landed.
“It will be at least 30minutes before she comes through, she has to wait for her bags and get through passport control.”
“Won’t take that long, I’m so excited”
Bette smiled, truth be told she was excited also. She hadn’t seen Carmen since she left to go pursue her dream
“So why is she coming back?”
“Got a huge huge huge promotion and they are opening a new nightclub here in LA. She’s heading up the whole DJ setup.”
“That’s cool. So have you told Shane?”
Alice shook her head rocking from one foot to the other. “Nah, I will though when she is here. They both have to be ready and we don’t want to push Carmen away again”
Bette nodded her head “True.”
