For the first time in a while Carmen didn’t flinch when she heard her name, instead the smile on her face got wider and brighter.

Alice walked into the Planet with a huge grin on her face, she had just got off the phone with Carmen and couldn’t believe what she had told her. Her face said it all. She was ecstatic.
“Hey Al, you’re looking happy” Helena commented as she sat down.
Alice nodded her head. “So how has the flat hunting gone?”
“You want me out that bad?” Alice’s smile turned upside down “Shit Al, I didn’t mean it. It’s gone well. I saw two potential ones earlier. You fancy coming to look at them with me on Friday?”
Alice smiled again “I would love to but I have a prior engagement” she winked.
Helena laughed “Who have you scored now?”
“Oh, nothing like that. I will tell you on Friday. I promise, I just don’t want to break this persons secret.”
“That’s a first”

“What’s a first?”
“Alice is keeping a secret, well a secret”
Bette sat down staring at Alice “You feeling okay?”
Alice laughed. “Yes Bette. But, well you will all find out on Friday”
“Tomorrow is Friday can’t you just tell us a day early?”
Alice shook her head “Nope”
“Spoil sport!”

Alice grinned “Where is Shane?”
“Oooo it has to do with Shane?” Helena asked.
“Nope, it has to do with all of us and that is all I am letting slip…. So again where is Shane?”
Bette sighed “I don’t know, I haven’t really heard from her since she spoke to Carmen on the phone here.”
“That was a few days ago!” Alice spoke strongly.
“Hey don’t talk to me like that. You’re her best friend”
Alice sighed “I know, I just can’t get over what she said…. About how nothing has gone right.”
Helena looked puzzled “What she say, you didn’t tell me that”
“It doesn’t matter cause its not true. She has grown so much as a person lately, you know I’m proud of her, yes I was disappointed when she left Carmen but from where she was six seven years ago to now, I can’t help but smile” Bette said sincerely.
“We all love her, she just needs to realize that” Alice chipped in
