“Okay, if we put the smaller box in the backseat, and then the wardrobe into the back first followed by the bed frame then the mattress.”
As they lifted everything in, Shay sat on the curb watching.
“Okay just the mattress, it should fit if we put it on its side and diagonally” Shane spoke as all four lifted the mattress up and onto the back, avoiding the bed frame box that was sticking up and out the back. After five minutes they managed to get it in.

“I’m just going to go to the hardware shop and get something to secure this. I will be right back.” Shane ran off leaving the girls and Shay.

Alice looked down at Shay, prodding him with her foot. “Shay?”
Shay looked up at Alice “Yeah”
Alice nodded her head in Carmen’s direction. Shay sighed and stood up “Carmen?”
Carmen turned around “Yeah Shay?”
He looked down at his feet then looked back up chewing on his lip. “I want to apologise for my behaviour towards you, I had no right acting that way and I’m sorry.”
Carmen smiled “It’s okay, apology accepted.”

Shane returned just as Shay sat back down. “You okay Shay?”
“Yeah, just getting a bit tired”
“Okay well, I’ve just got to secure the mattress and box then we will be on our way, okay?”
“Yeah, can I play on the playstation?”
“Shay, you’re grounded.”
“Fine.” Shay didn’t say anything about apologizing, he would tell her later.

Shane just laughed, ten minutes later they were all set. Shay drove with Alice as Carmen rode with Shane.

“What do you think they are talking about?” shay asked Alice as they followed behind shane.
“I’m not sure, they have a lot to work through. Well done for apologizing, I know it took you a lot of courage. You now have to explain to your sister why you were like that”
“But she should know”
“She isn’t a mind reader Shay, you have to tell her things”

Meanwhile in the other car.

Shane tapped her fingers on the steering wheel. Occasionally throwing small glances at Carmen.
“Do you mind if I put the radio on?” Shane asked breaking the silence.
“I was just going to ask that”
Shane reached forward to turn it on and dance song came on.
“I love this song. I haven’t really heard it that often but everytime I do it gets me”
“What’s it called?”
“Every time we touch by Cascada”
Shane sat quietly listening to the lyrics, smiling as some of the lyrics sounded like they were coming straight from her heart.
