Bette opened her eyes, thinking about Tina. She would give her until the end of this lunch date to decide on her own. Then, Bette would tell Tina her story, and hopefully save her a lot of personal trauma.

"Eric, you’re a really nice guy, and I like you, but I don’t think this is going to work out." Tina said quickly, leaning back in her chair as she waited for Eric’s response.
They were eating a quiet lunch at a caf on the corner of one of the busiest streets in Corona Bay. Eric was taking a large bite of his triple-decker BLT when Tina spewed her guts to him. Swallowing the large chunk whole, Eric leaned in toward the blonde. "Say what?"
Tina sighed, smiling. "I’m sorry Romeo, but I can’t help the way I feel. You’re a nice guy; you just aren’t the guy for me. And honestly, I’m not the girl for you."
"Who says?"
"I say."
"How can you be so sure? This is only our second date and it really isn’t a date. It’s like half a date, so–"
"I get it. But that doesn’t change my mind. I’m sorry." Tina lowered her eyes, picking at a piece of lettuce from her garden salad.
Eric stared at Tina for a minute, his eyes squinting in a quieted rage. He wiped his mouth furiously before slamming the napkin down on his plate. In all of his womanizing years, he had never been rejected. Well, there was one exception, Bette Porter, but he was young then. He moved too fast with her. But Eric knew better now. He knew how to take it slow and wait until just the right moment to take what he wanted. And he was sure he was at least halfway there with Tina, before she threw him this curveball. Well, he wasn’t going to take it sitting down. "Has Pru–Bette talked to you about me? Is that where this is coming from?"
"No." Tina said, looking up at Eric. "Bette has nothing to do with this, although I can tell that you two don’t like each other. But no, this is my own decision."
"How can you make such a decision based on one and a half dates? I think I deserve just one more." You are turning out to be quite a challenge Tina Kennard…and I love a good challenge.
"I don’t think so." Tina said, getting up.
"Just, consider it." Eric said quickly, grabbing on to Tina’s wrist. "Go home and think it over before deciding to just…throw away what has the potential to be the best thing in your life."
That’s a little presumptuous. "I don’t know Romeo."
"I don’t know Romeo."
"Think about it Tina." Eric said charmingly as he stood up and moved close to Tina, so it looked as if they were having a loving, intimate moment. "I won’t stop bugging you until you do. Please."
Figuring she would get away quicker, Tina caved. "Fine, I’ll think about it." She pulled her wrist from his grasp. "But don’t keep your hopes up." Ugh, you’re starting to creep me out already.
"That’s all I can ask for." Eric said. "Do you want me to drive you home?"
Tina shook her head. "No thanks. I want to walk and think some things over." Tina said, mocking Eric, only making him laugh.
Tina walked a block an a half to a payphone before calling her sister. Samantha picked up after one ring. "Hello?"
"Hey, it’s me. Can you come pick me up?"
"I take it Eric didn’t make the cut."
"No."
"Did he take it bad?"
"Not necessarily."
"What’d he say?"
"I’ll tell you in the car, just get here fast. I don’t want him driving up to me while I wait for you. I told him I wanted to walk home. I’m on South and Main."
"I’ll be right there." Samantha said before hanging up.
Tina hung up too, walking to the corner. As she waited, she thought about calling Bette. I wonder if she’ll tell me about Eric now. I wonder what she’ll think about what I said to him. I wonder if she’ll come over tonight.
Wait, what?

I think I’d rather swallow broken glass than finish watching S3. Correction, I think I now know what swallowing broken glass is like due to S3. Awesome chapter as always, Manda! Tina, your almost at the end of the “Bette is the right person for you” marathon. Make it happen! Much respect for this story Manda.
I like the young version of Bette and Tina. I hope that Tina does call Bette to come over. I am also glad that Bette waited for Tina to make her own decision about scuzzy Eric.

Well Tina did the rigth thing cause Romeo does not worth. I hope Bette and Tina talk about this and about her actuals feelings
