    Jody goes to rollcall her newbies, whilst Brenda looks through the window, without knowing that two couple of eyes was watching toward Jody’s building since they arrived minutes ago.   New Pasadena, 11:30 a.m. the same day. New CalTech -building H-006- Maura Isles’ quarters.   Maura: “have you seen the short blonde leave the building?”

    Jody goes to rollcall her newbies, whilst Brenda looks through the window, without knowing that two couple of eyes was watching toward Jody’s building since they arrived minutes ago.

     

    New Pasadena, 11:30 a.m. the same day. New CalTech -building H-006- Maura Isles’ quarters.

     

    Maura: “have you seen the short blonde leave the building?”

    Jane: “no, definitively they are still there”

    Maura: “this is not good; Jody and Brenda are a dangerous and poisoning mixture”

    Jane: “we have to tell Bette”

    Maura: “hey…, look at the sky”

    Jane: “yes…, they say that a storm is about to hit us again, can you hear that”

    Maura: “what?

    Jane: “the silent, the birds, are gone”

    A strong rumble breaks the quiet, and a brilliant light makes a shining on the dark.

    Maura: “o my gosh, that was very close”

    Jane: “Maura it was on the other side of the residence”

    Maura: (looking through the window) “Jane, it was in Bette’s building”

    Jane: “how could you know?”

    Maura: “because I’m seeing the building”

    Jane: “nah…, you can’t, I don’t even see the buildings there”

    Maura: “well, I could see them; fortunately the lightning rod protected the building”

    Another strong rumble and strong lighting shake the place.

    Maura: “oh my God, they have been hit by the lightning, there are fire and smoke”

    Jane: “what…, we have to go, Maura, they need our help”

    Maura: “how could we go, it’s poring and it’s still dangerous”

    Jane: “you are right we better wait”

     

    Somewhere in between space and time- maybe 12:00 p.m. the same day.

     

    As Tina enter in the mirror she follows a path that shows her different branches and at the end of each one she sees windows with different scenarios, people she doesn’t know wearing weird clothes, she sees also her auntie Sharon crying with other professors in control room and in another window, she sees her mother talking with another girl, she sees all those windows from afar because she doesn’t want to be distant from the original path, she is scared of getting lost, she starts walking back on her steps and try to go to the other side of the mirror, but although, she could even see through the glass the partially wrecked bedroom there is no way out from her side, she decided to stop at five steps away from the other side of the mirror and sits on what looks like ground. After half an hour trying her htab that works but have a weak net-cloud signal she displays her hphone trying to call Bette, but again, the signal is weak, she starts moving closer to the mirror and the signal get stronger, suddenly someone is approaching from the other side, it is Bette and the blonde decides to call her using her hphone, but before she made the call a voice tells her.

    1. Phew, happy that Tina is alright!

      Sciencefiction is not something that interest me, but your story is a exception.

      The “changed” girls found each other, and i am looking forward to see how they are gonna rescue Louise.

        You can believe it or not but I was also worry about Tina, she could decide to go to her mother that she saw through a window in the wormhole, but she came back to Bette, it was a hard decision.
        Now the question is why they were attacked, lightning hitting exclusively building H-027, what do you think about that?
        As far as we go, there are 12 ‘changed’ girls even though they may not be the only ones with potential abilities, however they were the ones that changed because a strong emotion, love, and their change was triggered by feeling their lovers or friends in distress or danger.
        That is not usual in real live sometimes love makes us move heaven and earth even using hidden abilities, of course no like the ones in this story.
        I’m very glad that you like my story and each time you guys make a comment it helps me to re-write my ideas and continue this story.

    3. Let me see if intender correct me if I’m talking nonsense.
      This means that we have a meta-human group, and Bette and Tina are
      with more powers than the others … this group are humans who possuíem “biological variation” in their METAGENE. And that this gene remained dormant until activated with this extreme storm or feeling, which is Love. And this METAGENE uses the source of this action as a catalyst for such “genetic change” resulting in meta-human abilities? !! … our mother !! … It’s getting very interesting this story.
      The entire universe.

      Note: I’m aware that this is a Sci-Fi.

    4. My friend, you are extremely close:

      Mutations are changes in the DNA sequence that regularly is present in certain population and it happens in single individual or group of individuals.
      Evolution requires mutations that could be transferred to offspring
      For mutations to be transferred to offspring they have to be in germ line cells (sex cells)
      The mutations could take place in the following ways:
      -By duplication of genes, where some of them remain originals (dominant and recessive genes)
      -By activation of some genes, through environmental factors (including age)
      -By mutations that take place in noncoding sequence (fragments) of DNA. DNA have sequences of units that coding traits (functions), these sequence are genes, however there are sequences of DNA that do not coding any trait (or not known genes)
      Now, it is known that using biomolecular engineering or genetic engineering, the last type of mutations could be performed by “someone”

        • I hope I’m not boring you with these technicalities. This is what Louise is questioning herself after her third dream (former chapter); did “someone” play God altering the genetic material of the cryobanks? or was there a genetic mix of DNA from humans and other species, and now is about to be expressed? That could give some explanation or have relationship to what is called a METAGENE and METAHUMANS (in some sci-fi stories and comics, which by the way I love). But here this is not going to happen to a privileged group, but to the whole human race and in different levels and you will read what it will entail
