My first time…a Sci-Fi Story Chapter 7– BEHIND THE MIRROR – THE SECOND WAVE

Voice: ‘don’t call her, first, just speak with her with your mind’
Tina: ‘Bette…, Bette, can you hear me…? Bette’
New Pasadena, 1:00 p.m. the same day. New CalTech –what remains from building H-027
All students in the house are choked, and crying, Tina was loved by her friends, Cat and Nicky are hysterically crying and Carmen is sobbing trying to console them.
Bette returns to her rooms, her office is destroyed, a big hole in the side of the roof, has damage partially the room where the gym is located in the second floor and have impacted also her bedroom but in minor scale, the furniture has been reduced into ashes and few very small pieces of different materials; there is not blood or signs of human remains; Bette takes her h-cube and produces her htab scanning the room and the instrument reveals no presence of her girlfriend; then the brunette moves to her bedroom where the bed is burnt, the window is nowhere and as in her office, the outside of the building is visible, again she scans the room in search for Tina and the instrument reveals no presence of the blonde, but as Bette is walking around a very weak signal appears when she paces in front of the mirror; she stops and see that the fabric that usually covers the glass has been removed, then suddenly she starts remembering what she thought it was a nightmare. Bette remembers during her childhood one day, when she was 3 years old and she was playing with her three-dimensional puzzle in the living room of her house, she saw a tall figure coming out of the mirror asking her about her parents and pulling her toward the mirror fortunately Kit came looking for her, the entity let her go and went inside the mirror again, just the memory of that experience is giving her goosebumps. Then she turns around facing the glass. It was something almost magical, she felt relaxed, her fear disappeared, and then she heard the voice
Tina: ‘Bette…, Bette, can you hear me…? Bette’
Bette: ‘oh my God… T…, is it you?’
Tina: ‘yes it’s me; I’m a little scared because the lightning almost hit me’
Bette: ‘where are you?’

Phew, happy that Tina is alright!
Sciencefiction is not something that interest me, but your story is a exception.
The “changed” girls found each other, and i am looking forward to see how they are gonna rescue Louise.

You can believe it or not but I was also worry about Tina, she could decide to go to her mother that she saw through a window in the wormhole, but she came back to Bette, it was a hard decision.
Now the question is why they were attacked, lightning hitting exclusively building H-027, what do you think about that?
As far as we go, there are 12 ‘changed’ girls even though they may not be the only ones with potential abilities, however they were the ones that changed because a strong emotion, love, and their change was triggered by feeling their lovers or friends in distress or danger.
That is not usual in real live sometimes love makes us move heaven and earth even using hidden abilities, of course no like the ones in this story.
I’m very glad that you like my story and each time you guys make a comment it helps me to re-write my ideas and continue this story.

Let me see if intender correct me if I’m talking nonsense.
This means that we have a meta-human group, and Bette and Tina are
with more powers than the others … this group are humans who possuíem “biological variation” in their METAGENE. And that this gene remained dormant until activated with this extreme storm or feeling, which is Love. And this METAGENE uses the source of this action as a catalyst for such “genetic change” resulting in meta-human abilities? !! … our mother !! … It’s getting very interesting this story.
The entire universe.

Mutations are changes in the DNA sequence that regularly is present in certain population and it happens in single individual or group of individuals.
Evolution requires mutations that could be transferred to offspring
For mutations to be transferred to offspring they have to be in germ line cells (sex cells)
The mutations could take place in the following ways:
-By duplication of genes, where some of them remain originals (dominant and recessive genes)
-By activation of some genes, through environmental factors (including age)
-By mutations that take place in noncoding sequence (fragments) of DNA. DNA have sequences of units that coding traits (functions), these sequence are genes, however there are sequences of DNA that do not coding any trait (or not known genes)
Now, it is known that using biomolecular engineering or genetic engineering, the last type of mutations could be performed by “someone”

I hope I’m not boring you with these technicalities. This is what Louise is questioning herself after her third dream (former chapter); did “someone” play God altering the genetic material of the cryobanks? or was there a genetic mix of DNA from humans and other species, and now is about to be expressed? That could give some explanation or have relationship to what is called a METAGENE and METAHUMANS (in some sci-fi stories and comics, which by the way I love). But here this is not going to happen to a privileged group, but to the whole human race and in different levels and you will read what it will entail
