    New York Minute 101=104

After another half an hour Tina left Roger and headed off to walk home through the snow and try and figure out how she was going to tell Bette this piece of news about her half-sister. She had almost reached her building when she decided that she needed to talk to Shane. Shane would be working but as she worked in a bar there was a chance she would be able to spare a few minutes for a chat. Tina hailed a cab and in 15 minutes she was walking into the gay friendly bar where Shane worked. She hadn’t been in here before and she looked around in interest – if you were a smart bar owner wanting to attract a certain kind of lesbian clientele – the perfect woman behind the bar was one Shane McCutcheon. Shane was serving behind the bar with a very butch looking gay man – well that covered a lot of bases for the sort of gay customers who would be drinking at this time in the afternoon. Tina perched herself on a bar stool and waited to be served – the man came close to her
“Can I be served by Shane please “Tina said smiling?
He smiled “I wish I had a tip for the number of times I get passed over in favor of our friend Shane” He looked at Tina “You don’t look her usual type”
Shane had turned and heard the conversation – she walked across and winked at Tina
“Tim – I promise you – she has a girlfriend who if she ever walked in here would eclipse me and every other dyke in the place”
Tim looked in disbelief at Tina and back at Shane
“Trust me – her girlfriend used to have a nickname when we lived in West Hollywood”
He looked back at Tina and raised an eyebrow
    “Lady Slayer “Tina said grinning
“Mm – and what nickname did our Shane have?”
Tina crossed her arms “ Well she was always one of our best friends but one of our friends said you knew when Shane was in a bar because you usually passed some baby dyke in tears heading in the opposite direction “
He grinned “You do know her don’t you “
Tina nodded “For longer than either of us want to remember “
He nodded and walked down the bar to serve a couple of men who had just walked in.
    “Would you like a beer?”
“Yes please – do you want anything – I need your wisdom”
“You better step into my consulting room – I will have a soft drink – I never drink at work “
    “Wise “said Tina with feeling

    1. Awesome update!

I wouldn’t want to see Bette get hurt again.

Kit doesn’t deserve the love Bette has for her and i really understand that Tina is very protective off her.

      Happy New Year!

    2. Just an awesome set of chapters. You can say so much in just one page of writing. I imagine that it is important for recovering addictive persons to be away from toxic or compromising situations but it is difficult when it is a close relative or friend. Quite the conundrum. I can’t wait to read what Bette will do. Happy New Year to you and Lord R. Have an awesome 2015.

    3. new update, now surely be happy to start the new year ;)
      Happy New Year to you!
It was a wonderful chapter I’m so glad that I read this again.
I love how Tina protective towards Bette .
Kit was really nasty to Bette and Tina. but I understand, she is Bette sister. I wonder what Bette will do with this.

    4. Hello friend! Thank you for bringing back my favorite story. Its wonderful to be able to walk the streets of New York again and see the sights of the city thru Bette and Tina’s eyes. I love the way you have developed their characters and watching them meander thru life as a couple again is so heartfelt. As Bette said, they were growing up, as we all need to do. I like the way you’ve handled the relationships between all of them and allowed them to be upfront and honest with one another. Your writing is so refreshing! Thank you for writing again!
