“Smaller portion for you Angie but there is some left over. Mind you – we are having apple pie and cream for afters”
“Wow “ Angie was impressed
“Thanks Bette “
Bette went and got her own plate. When she came back Angie had started and was tucking into her food. Bette sat down and looked at Tina
“Good appetite “ she said
“She does – you know she is ill when she refuses food “
“Good thing – I haven’t noticed that she’s that fussy “
“Oh she won’t eat what she doesn’t like just because its there”
“Tuck in Ti”
“I will – this looks great – how does it taste Angie ?”
“Fantastic “ Angie pronounced
Fifteen minutes later they were all sitting regarding empty plates – Tina shook her head
“I have to hand it to you Bette Porter – you can cook “
Bette winked at Angie “I have been telling you that since you arrived”
“Well sorry but I was going on the eight years I lived with you “
“I could cook “ Bette objected
“Tell Angie what your cooking skills consisted of “
Bette laughed as she sipped her glass of water
“Well I poured a mean bowl of cereal “
“And ?”
“I could speed dial take aways faster than you”
“Anything else ?”
“Coffee ?”
Angie was giggling – Bette appealed to her new friend “Angie – did I cook lunch today and was it delicious ?”
“Yes “
Bette held her hands up “I have the endorsement of one Ms A Kennard – that’s all I need and did you – Ms T Kennard not clear your plate as well ?”
“I did – I am just making the point that I do not remember such tasty meals coming from your hands in the past “
“Well if you play your cards right you will get the full range of my culinary skills while you are here”
“I have to admit it was delicious Bette – thank you “ Tina conceded
Bette smiled “ Pleasure – I’ll start the washing up “
“I’ll help “ Tina said
“Can I play the square game please ?” Angie asked to Bette
“I don’t mind but your mommy is the authority around here – we all do what she tells us “

I look for this story every day. I love that the 2 of them are being so open with each other about their feelings and hopes. Thanks for the update and please keep them coming! :)
And I want you back together as well !! I’m surprised though that Bette has not yet found the guts to ask Tina about the man she’s been seeing ( at least, if we are to trust Helena’s words at the beginning of this story ). I mean, I guess she probably feels she has no right to ask her that, but at the same time, I feel like qhe must be dying to know what has actually happened and if Tina got back to men at some point that must say something, right ? Something that these two will need to discuss at one point or another. And somehow I feel like this would be the perfect time for Tina to open up to Bette about that… At any rate, this was a great chapter, Ally, and you got me totally enthralled with this story…. As usual !
I read this story the first time out and still look forward to your updates and am just as captivated by it.
