"How very noble," Tina whispered in a grin as she reached for Bette, noticing for the first time how tall the brunette was.
They evolved slowly around the gate area, ignoring people watching them from other parts of the airport, focusing instead on each other and the music. They unconsciously inched closer, a hand sliding across the small of a back, tightening its grip. Soft smile and shy gazes soon replaced the embarrassment of dancing in a crowded airport.
Closer again, they carried on dancing, Bette’s hand releasing her grasp on Tina’s smaller one, instead covering it with hers to bring it to rest high against her chest, her thumb caressing the smooth skin of the hand it held. Tina’s other hand which had been resting on Bette’s upper arm, shifted slowly around the taller woman’s back, fingers brushing against her shoulder blade through the thin material of her white shirt.
Quietly, they danced to the soft music which meant so much to Tina.
Imperceptibly, they got even closer, arms tightening around one another. Tina’s fingers reached the back of Bette’s head and naturally, instinctively started playing with the long soft and yielding curls.
Suppressing a small exhale at the feeling, Bette leaned down to rest her cheek against Tina’s. She could feel her eyes closing, forgetting entirely that there was anyone else in the terminal, or even on the planet.
It was just the two of them, in their own little world.
Two perfectly matched smiles etched themselves of the women’s lips as the warmth of their respective bodies enveloped the other and the scent of their perfumes registered with both their senses. They could not get any closer and kept moving gently in rhythm with the sweet love song.
Tina’s eyes closed in turn, shutting everything out but Bette.
Their steps slowed finally and the pair barely moved, holding each other tenderly near one of the large windows overlooking the tarmac.
The song had come to an end.
They were not ready to let go, however, knowing full well the sense of loss which would inhabit them instantly if their bodies separated.
"This is the final boarding call for flight 258 to New York," a woman’s voice informed them on a crackely speaker, snapping them out of their moment. "Would all remaining passengers, please make their way to the departure gate. This flight will be closing shortly."

kins…did I ever tell you how much I adore and love your writing? I truly do…I can’t wait for the multi-chapter story.
Girl, you can spin a story. You are awesome
Kins40, will you marry me?
Damn…..kins you come out of nowhere and just rock my world like this, only to leave for god knows how long. I don’t care just as long as you keep coming back. Now that is a characteristic of a player LOL ;@)
I forgot my offering of the number 14. Thanks for including me. 14 is special to me because in a few short days my partner and I will celebrate 25 years together on September 14th. How appropriate that you would choose now to include my number. I know I have gushed over your writing before. I continue to adore you. T
Wonderful. Absolutely “freakin” beautiful. Thank you
