Neither of them, moved not even to pretend turning a page over. It was the only other entity in the room which triggered their first verbal exchange.
The loud speaker started spewing out a song which seem to delight both woman equally.
Tina hummed quietly at the song she had always loved and recognised instantly, her fingers tapping along with her foot as the lyrics escaped softly from her lips. But it was the distinctive louder sound which caught her attention and made her look at her reading companion.
The blonde looked at the brunette, apparently intently concentrated on the words in front of her. But as Tina watched, she noticed the full lips moving purposely and realised that the sound which had caught her attention was the warm timbre of the brunette’s voice as she also sang along to the music.
    She giggled.
Bette caught the divine sound of the soft laughter immediately and looked up, a slight flush creeping across her cheeks. She wondered herself whether it was out of embarrassment  at being caught or the simple fact that she had locked gazes with the enchanting woman next to her once again.
"Oh dear God," she managed to say, "Was I singing out loud?"
Tina nodded her head with another small laugh. "Yeah"
"I’m sorry," Bette apologised with a hint of humour in her voice, "I have been working really hard on that problem but this is one of my favourite songs and I guess I couldn’t control myself."
"No…really it’s okay," Tina assured her companion, laying her book on the chair beside her. "I like this song too and, you have a nice voice."
It was Bette’s turn to laugh, "Well I guess thank you for the compliment, but I believe you were the one who started singing first and I think it unconsciously got me started.."
Tina looked on as the brunette replaced her boarding pass inside her book before closing it. "Oh… so it’s my fault then," she added with a smile, knowing full well that the fact that the brunette was talking to her was solely responsible for the broad grin on her face.
Bette’s reaction mirrored hers and with an identical broad smile, the brunette moved closer, extending her hand. "Hi, I’m Bette."

    1. Damn…..kins you come out of nowhere and just rock my world like this, only to leave for god knows how long. I don’t care just as long as you keep coming back. Now that is a characteristic of a player LOL ;@)

    2. I forgot my offering of the number 14. Thanks for including me. 14 is special to me because in a few short days my partner and I will celebrate 25 years together on September 14th. How appropriate that you would choose now to include my number. I know I have gushed over your writing before. I continue to adore you. T

    3. Simply FANTASTIC Kins, just beautifully, wonderfully and lovingly fantastic. Thanks for popping back in and bringing wonderful stories. Can hardly wait for the multi-chapter story you will bring us. Thanks again.

    4. Ditto to everything above, well, maybe not the marry me part since its not too appropriate at this time. But, damn girl, you write great stories. I loved the Savannah slip in there… still one of my favorite stories. Thanks for the update.

    5. Great kins – I came to your stories late but delighted I found you! A true storyteller with the ability in your words to make me laugh and make me cry – thank you.

Do you think you might write some more Savannah some time?!?
