    Bette nodded pensively as if she were preparing to offer some wise advice. Knowing full well she was way too drunk to even consider going into a conversation that deep, she changed the subject. “At least someone is getting some” Alice looked at her to watch as her best friend struggled to close her lips

    Bette nodded pensively as if she were preparing to offer some wise advice. Knowing full well she was way too drunk to even consider going into a conversation that deep, she changed the subject.

    “At least someone is getting some”

    Alice looked at her to watch as her best friend struggled to close her lips around the red straw sticking out of her cup. She said nothing as Bette’s tongue swirled around the skinny bit of plastic that seemed to evade her mouth.

    “Okay, I think you’ve had enough”

    She reached for the glass only to have Bette pull back and out of reach, stretching further when the brunette pulled back even more. Alice pursed her lips when Bette managed to empty the contents of the cup before she had a chance to stop her.

    “Can you believe she said I hadn’t changed?” Bette slurred as she slammed her cup on the bar, “Me. How can she even say that? Of course I’ve changed. I’m older, successful, m-mmmature. I’m a catch”

    Alice’s eyebrows raised at Bette’s drawn out word, afraid her best friend would either throw up or pass out.

    “Yeah” She pursed her lips, “You’re definitely the fish of the day”

    “Fish?” Bette asked with panic and she angled her head in an attempt to smell her armpits, nearly falling off her stool. She looked questioningly down at her lap, a sudden fear swirling in her intoxicated gaze.

    Alice waved a hand dismissively as she rolled her hands, “I just mean, look at yourself. Yeah, you might be all those things but you haven’t exactly shown any of that to Tina. To top it all off, we’re at a party for your girlfriend”

    “Wait” Bette hiccupped, “That’s only because-”

    “Yeah” Alice rolled her eyes again, “I know all about your ridiculous agreement or whatever you two want to call it. Did it ever occur to you that Tina went along with the whole thing to make the transition easier on you? It’s been killing her to see you with Emma but she’s tolerating it because she thinks you’re worth waiting for”

    Bette pursed her lips as she watched Brenda twirl a laughing Tina around on the dance floor, “If that’s true then why is she having the time of her life over there with Brenda fucking Larson?”

Ok this is by far my favorite story lol.. there so much going on and strong love that just can’t catch a break… and Emma has to be the most blind person I know.. how all this time she hasn’t figured out Tina is the ex and Bette loves her.. lol. She forget the costume she has on is not her own and taste Bette breath to know there is no way in hell she could have known it was her. She is so freaking shallow and you dont love Bette she dont fit in to your world at all. Lol love love love your story. thank you.

    8. I was reading this chapter again and realized I didn’t end up leaving a comment the first time so I had to say just how much I am absolutely LOVING this story!

      I knew there was gonna be a good old switch as soon as they were alone in that bathroom but reading it through was better than I could have imagined!

      Hope you’ve got the new chapter just about ready to go!! You are super talented and I was floored by the fact that some of the lines you used in this story were actually used in GenQ before it even aired (“no, *you* need space”). Keep up the good work and looking forward to more!

    18. Ahhhh oh my god. I hope she can tell Tina and Alice tells Tina Bette was going to her I hope she understands that Bette wouldn’t do that with Emma. But ahhhh I can’t wait for the next chapter. Oh I really hope you will continue this fic but I hope Tina will understand that it was the mask change that threw her off and they can finally finally just be together. Ahhh I can’t not have this story unfinished please continue
