    “Okay, you really can’t see-” Alice pinched the bridge of her nose in a silent bid for patience. “Tina’s just using her as a distraction. She needs someone to help keep her mind off the relationship that deep down she knows should have been hers” “But it’s not like that with Emma and I anymore”

    “But it’s not like that with Emma and I anymore” Bette threw herself back in her seat with a sigh, “We haven’t even slept together since she’s been in town”

    Alice raised an eyebrow, “And what makes you think there’s something more going on between Tina and Brenda? Do you really think she would do that to you?”

    Bette opened her mouth to reply but found she couldn’t answer.

    “Exactly. That girl has been in love with you since high school. Trust me when I say that she wouldn’t jeopardize any chance at being with you again”

    Alice watched as Bette looked down at her hands with the most thoughtful expression one could see on an intoxicated person. She took a deep breath and placed a comforting hand on her best friend’s shoulder.

    “Look .. you’ve got the girl. You just need to show her that she’s got you, too”

    Bette pressed her lips together as she considered Alice’s words, nodding her head as they settled in her disoriented brain.

    She got up without a word, her movements much less graceful than usual. There was a determination set in her features that left no room for question and Alice watched as she made her way through the crowd.

    Shane approached the bar, her eyebrows knitted together in confusion as she watched Bette walk in the opposite direction.

    She jutted her chin in the direction of the brunette, “Where’s Bette going?”

    Alice smiled brightly and let out a deep, blissful sigh, “Probably to go Tina that she loves her”

    Shane’s expression was one of disbelief and surprise, “What? Is she crazy why would she do that?”

    “Because it told her to”

    Shane’s head whipped to her best friend, her eyes wide, “Why the fuck would you do that?!”

    With a simple shrug, Alice signaled the bartender, “Because she was sitting here getting drunk and sulking over Tina so I told her that she had to go get her girl”

    Shane pinched the bridge of her nose, mirroring Alice’s earlier expression. “You can’t be serious. So your advice to Bette during Emma’s party, her girlfriend’s party while she’s drunk out of her mind was to go after the girl she’s been in love with since she was fifteen”

Ok this is by far my favorite story lol.. there so much going on and strong love that just can’t catch a break… and Emma has to be the most blind person I know.. how all this time she hasn’t figured out Tina is the ex and Bette loves her.. lol. She forget the costume she has on is not her own and taste Bette breath to know there is no way in hell she could have known it was her. She is so freaking shallow and you dont love Bette she dont fit in to your world at all. Lol love love love your story. thank you.

    8. I was reading this chapter again and realized I didn’t end up leaving a comment the first time so I had to say just how much I am absolutely LOVING this story!

      I knew there was gonna be a good old switch as soon as they were alone in that bathroom but reading it through was better than I could have imagined!

      Hope you’ve got the new chapter just about ready to go!! You are super talented and I was floored by the fact that some of the lines you used in this story were actually used in GenQ before it even aired (“no, *you* need space”). Keep up the good work and looking forward to more!

    18. Ahhhh oh my god. I hope she can tell Tina and Alice tells Tina Bette was going to her I hope she understands that Bette wouldn’t do that with Emma. But ahhhh I can’t wait for the next chapter. Oh I really hope you will continue this fic but I hope Tina will understand that it was the mask change that threw her off and they can finally finally just be together. Ahhh I can’t not have this story unfinished please continue
