    She glanced at the closed bathroom door before looking down her watch for what had seemed like the twentieth time, the suspense of waiting for the blonde to exit the restroom really beginning to weigh on her.     She glanced at the closed bathroom door before looking down her watch for what had seemed like the twentieth time, the suspense of waiting for the blonde to exit the restroom really beginning to weigh on her.

    She sighed and went over her top three apologies/explanations though none of them really appealed to her. She laid her head back against the wall, feeling hopeless.

    Why did she even say that Tina resented her? It wasn’t how she felt at all.

    The blonde had been right to say that Bette hadn’t changed, her lash out was clear proof of that. She’d acted from a place of fear and pain, something she’d often done in the past and something that now jeopardized her future.

    No.

    Bette would not let things between herself and Tina end on a bad note. Alice had been right, Bette needed to show the blonde that things weren’t just one sided between them. Tina deserved to feel every bit Bette’s as it was for the brunette in reverse.

    Bette looked at her watch yet again and groaned in frustration.

    What could possibly be taking so long?

    For the first time ever, Bette could honestly say she understood what it was like to be a man waiting for a woman.

    Okay, she decided. No more waiting.

    Bette pushed off the wall determined to pour out her heart to Tina in the bathroom. Admittedly it wasn’t the most romantic setting but at least it was private.

    She made it all but one step when the bathroom door swung open and there standing in the doorway was a sight to stop the brunette dead in her tracks.

    Tina stood proudly in all her beautiful glory, her peacock feathers creating this breathtaking wall around her.

    Without any warning, she was immediately swarmed by paparazzi which in turn blocked off any chance at escape.

    Fortunately for her, the crowd dissipated just as quickly as it had formed. One glance at the costume and they left disappointed, saving them from the brunette’s protective wrath as she had already begun to make her way over.

    Not having spotted Bette, Tina walked in the opposite direction and squeezed herself through the crowd, no doubt making her way back to Brenda.

    Well that wasn’t going to happen.

Ok this is by far my favorite story lol.. there so much going on and strong love that just can’t catch a break… and Emma has to be the most blind person I know.. how all this time she hasn’t figured out Tina is the ex and Bette loves her.. lol. She forget the costume she has on is not her own and taste Bette breath to know there is no way in hell she could have known it was her. She is so freaking shallow and you dont love Bette she dont fit in to your world at all. Lol love love love your story. thank you.

    8. I was reading this chapter again and realized I didn’t end up leaving a comment the first time so I had to say just how much I am absolutely LOVING this story!

      I knew there was gonna be a good old switch as soon as they were alone in that bathroom but reading it through was better than I could have imagined!

      Hope you’ve got the new chapter just about ready to go!! You are super talented and I was floored by the fact that some of the lines you used in this story were actually used in GenQ before it even aired (“no, *you* need space”). Keep up the good work and looking forward to more!

    18. Ahhhh oh my god. I hope she can tell Tina and Alice tells Tina Bette was going to her I hope she understands that Bette wouldn’t do that with Emma. But ahhhh I can’t wait for the next chapter. Oh I really hope you will continue this fic but I hope Tina will understand that it was the mask change that threw her off and they can finally finally just be together. Ahhh I can’t not have this story unfinished please continue
