    Emma crossed her arms over her chest, her eyes fixated on a spot on the wall across from her.

    “Do you think there’s something going on with her?” She asked finally, the question startling Tina.

    “What do you mean?” Tina asked cautiously, her heart rate picking up speed.

    With a single shoulder shrug, Emma turned her head to look at Tina. “I don’t know. Maybe it’s stress, maybe it’s nothing. She’s just been so .. distant and closed off. It’s like her mind is elsewhere all the time and no matter what I do, I can’t reach her”

    Not knowing how to answer, Tina remained silent.

    She hadn’t expected to get into a discussion about the one woman she had been hoping to get out of her head at least a little while.

    Their earlier fight had weighed heavily in Tina’s mind as well as her heart, the stress of it thankfully hidden behind her mask. She had hoped that a few drinks and dancing the night away with Brenda would at least help to distract her even if just a bit. Unfortunately the more Tina laughed with Brenda, the more she missed Bette.

    She had decided to hide from her blonde friend and seek some type of solace. Unfortunately, Tina now knew that was the last thing she would get.

    Emma continued a beat later, her words interrupting Tina’s thoughts. “Was she really close to your friend? Jenny? I know that’s when she started to seem different and I mean, that’s the only logical thing I can think of. That she’s mourning. I know it’s different for everyone”

    “I just think she’s going through a lot” Tina shrugged hopelessly, unsure of how to safely approach the subject. “She had that big show and then found out her friend died. Then coming back down here .. it’s a lot. There are memories that I’m sure she’s tried to forget”

    “Yeah like that ex-girlfriend she never talks about” Emma shifted her feet to settle more comfortably against the sink, “She only told me that the bitch broke her heart right after their high school graduation. Bette tries to play it off that she’s over it but I can tell that she’s not. There are some deep scars there”

Ok this is by far my favorite story lol.. there so much going on and strong love that just can’t catch a break… and Emma has to be the most blind person I know.. how all this time she hasn’t figured out Tina is the ex and Bette loves her.. lol. She forget the costume she has on is not her own and taste Bette breath to know there is no way in hell she could have known it was her. She is so freaking shallow and you dont love Bette she dont fit in to your world at all. Lol love love love your story. thank you.

    8. I was reading this chapter again and realized I didn’t end up leaving a comment the first time so I had to say just how much I am absolutely LOVING this story!

      I knew there was gonna be a good old switch as soon as they were alone in that bathroom but reading it through was better than I could have imagined!

      Poor Bette, she’s not gonna get out of this one that easy. Thanks for continuing this story and please please post soon!

      Hope you’ve got the new chapter just about ready to go!! You are super talented and I was floored by the fact that some of the lines you used in this story were actually used in GenQ before it even aired (“no, *you* need space”). Keep up the good work and looking forward to more!

    18. Ahhhh oh my god. I hope she can tell Tina and Alice tells Tina Bette was going to her I hope she understands that Bette wouldn’t do that with Emma. But ahhhh I can’t wait for the next chapter. Oh I really hope you will continue this fic but I hope Tina will understand that it was the mask change that threw her off and they can finally finally just be together. Ahhh I can’t not have this story unfinished please continue
