“Uh” Emma chuckled nervously when she saw the expression on Bette’s face and threaded an arm through one of Hector’s, “Sweetie, why don’t we head to the powder room? A miracle needs to happen to this landscape”

She circled her face with a single finger to which Hector wrapped an arm around her waist, careful not to harm her wings.

“Mi amor, you are perfect. I will simply create the illusion that I was the one that made it so” He smiled as Emma chuckled before calling over his shoulder, “Bette would you like me to fix your makeup after? It looks like it was done by an inexperienced child. Your hometown makeup artists are horrible”

Bette ran her tongue over her teeth before she pressed her lips tightly together to form something that sort of resembled a smile.

“I’m good thanks”

Hector shrugged as if the answer didn’t faze him and continued to walk Emma out of the room.

Good riddance.

Bette sighed as she was reminded of every one of Emma’s events she had thankfully been able to talk herself out of and every one she hadn’t. The redhead had a whole group of friends with personalities similar if not the same to Hector’s. They were all spoiled, entitled and extremely closed minded.

They were also going to be at the party and the brunette cringed at the thought. She could almost hear the ear piercing screams, the exaggerated gestures and the inappropriate comments.

Emma laughed loudly in the next room and Bette couldn’t help but roll her eyes, knowing that Hector was no doubt gossiping about some other celebrity’s turmoil. It was something that Emma did whenever she was around her so called friends, a trait Bette despised. With a sigh, the brunette went to fix herself a drink.

She was going to need it. It was going to be a long night.
