“Mysterious woman… really?” The brunette replied as she turned around holding the plate in one of her hands.
“We don’t have all day” Joan said trying to feign annoyance.
“Fine” Bette said sighing. “But first let’s try this” She added as she placed the plate between them.
Joan grabbed a fork and proceeded to taste the food that had invaded the kitchen with its amazing scent.
“Bette this is… well, I have no words to describe this honestly…” The sous chef said as she placed another forkfull of food in her mouth.
“Well thank you” The brunette said as she too tasted the amazing food. “Mmmm… not so bad, tough I could use a little bit less of pepper”
“Nonsense… this is absolutely perfect as it is… I’m telling you, if you keep cooking like this I smell another Micheling star…” Joan said excited.
“So I gather that we should include this in the menu then” Bette said truly surprised, since when it came to her food she trusted her friend’s opinions more than her own.
“Hell yes…” Joan exclaimed widening her eyes, truly surprised at Bette’s lack of selfconfidence at times. “But, nice try… now speak” The woman commanded half smiling.
“Well, what do you wanna know?” Bette asked lifting her shoulders.
“Everything?! Like… What’s her name? Where did you two meet? What does she do for a living? How old is she? Is she from LA? How many other women has she dated? Is she serious about you?” Joan started and got interrupted by her boss and friend.
“Ease up mom…” Bette said jokingly lifting one of her palms. “Her name is Tina, Tina Kennard. We met at a disco the weekend before the wedding. She’s 26 and lives currently in LA, but originally she’s from North Carolina… what… loose the grin…”
“So how come she ended up in the beach house last weekend?” Joan asked with a huge smile plastered on her face.
“How would you know that? Has Alice been here?” Bette asked rather annoyed for she hated to be so transparent at times.
“No, she hasn’t. But she didn’t have to tell me anything. You should have listened to yourself on the phone the few times you called last weekend… plus how incredibly happy and, what’s the word… at peace you are. So it doesn’t take a genious to figure things out Bette” Joan added still smiling broadly, since she couldn’t be happier for her friend.

I can’t believe that Tina would still be doubting how Bette must feel about her, even though she has not really told her, action really does speak louder than words, and boy oh boy have they had some action.
