Out of Closet (TiBette time-travel romance), Ch. 68, Finale part 4A

“I don’t want to do it either but we might not have another choice. I can’t bear to lose you again, baby. I can’t live without you,” Tina’s voice choked a bit from her emotions and Bette pulled her into her arms. They stood there together, clinging to each other tightly. Bette could feel Tina’s tears on her own cheek and neck. Alice’s heart broke for her two friends. Her mind was racing hundred miles an hour, trying to come up with a plausible solution.

“Tee, honey…I wish it was that easy. When I first came here I felt so lost in this new century and I only survived because I met you. I can’t lose my identity too. This is all I have left from my past life and I can’t give it up.”

“No, I don’t want that either.” Tina sighed, wiping away a few tears. “Alice, what’s the word on that airline girlfriend of yours? Is she going to help with the fake Geneva trip?”

“Yes,” Alice slapped her forehead. “I totally forgot with all this FBI excitement. I just called her to let her know that things are moving a little faster that we anticipated and she’s going to take care of the details today. I should get an email from her soon with all the info.”

Bette exhaled and kissed Tina’s forehead, letting her go. “Ok, that’s good. I guess I will call the FBI and set a meeting. I doubt they will leave me alone for long so I’d better talk to them now and be done with it, so we can move on.”

“Should we get a lawyer or something?” Tina asked. “If they suspect time travel and not on some kind of a fishing expedition, it could get serious.”

“On it,” Alice quickly took out her phone. She was typing and muttering to herself for about ten minutes until Tina lost her patience. “Al, what are you doing?”

Alice held up her finger as she finished typing. “Here’s what I’m doing. I asked myself, who is the lawyer that all the celebrities and Hollywood stars went to? After some research I got the name…Libby Schwartz. She just texted me back that she will represent you if needed.”

“You just hired a celebrity divorce lawyer to represent Bette? Are you out of your mind?” Tina asked incredulously.

“She practices family law and the Hollywood elite is her current gig but she specialized in criminal and federal law originally. Besides, she’s a white, 80 year old Jewish female lawyer, which should tell you everything you need to know about her. She has a lot of chutzpah,” Alice smiled sweetly. “And here’s the silver lining…she’s a lesbian and will take Bette’s case pro-bono.”

“Alice, you mentioned that we had three possible options. What is the third option?” Bette asked curiously.

Alice tapped her temple with her forefinger and answered, “I’m still working on it in my head and it’s perfect. It’s possibly the best plan I’ve ever came up with, though it might require some finagling, so first, let’s meet with the FBI.”

    1. Thank you for the chapter!

We don’t have much of Helena and Candace in this chapter, and i guess it’s not a bad thing.

I’m also with Bette and Tina and want to know what the third option :)

      Waiting for the next.

    2. This is not looking good for Bette and Tina. It looks like someone has been paid off to get the FBI involved. They are not going to buy into some time travel story or UFOs or visiting aliens no matter who is swearing its true. As the long ago character Joe Friday use to say “Just the facts please”.

Option 3 – Get Helena over just for the portal to open and shove her in. Hopefully it will close and never open again.
There is no evidence a portal exist. To the average person, it seems like a fairy tale. To true law enforcement who are doing their jobs, it will as well.
Excellent story…. let’s see how this turns out… write when you can. Thanks for the update
